When is a child really an adult?
How's come if an adult, lets say 25yrs. old has sex with a 15yr old they say it's wrong because the 15yr old is a child and can't consent. But if that same 15yr old kills someone then they want to treat them as an adult and try them as one as well?
Not sleeping with a 15yr old. Question just came to mind from seeing certain cases on the news.
I have to agree with KC. I've seen alot of woman who had sex with underage guys and only get probation cause if course they make the woman out to be a victim cause she had a bad marriage or a abusive husband. when a guy does it he gets years in jail.

My parents are roughly 12 years apart and started dating when my mother was 19 and my father was 31... Guess what, there is always a double standard... My father screamed bloody murder when I started to date my now husband.... I was 18 and he was 26, only 8 years apart.
13, 14,15, 16+ year olds are now throwing themselves at older men... All of you people claiming "innocent victim" are delusional!

It's different.
Having sex with a 15 year old is a crime the 25 year old commits, so the mental state of the victim is not being taken into consideration because the age is the only thing that makes what the 25 year old did a crime.
If the 15 year old commits murder, it is the 15 year old that is being brought into question now. To be tried as an adult looks into the mental state of the 15 year old at this point because now, the mental state of the 15 year old is a factor in the crime.

On the first scenario it is assumed that the child is "innocent" and the adult "corrupted" him/her.
On the second one, there is no adult influence so the "adult" behavior can only be attributed to the "child".
