I'm wanting a sporty car thats reliable and has good fuel economy.?

I'm buying a new car in august. Not brand new, but new to me. I'm not going below ten years old. I need something reliable with good fuel economy. It has to have two doors and look sporty. Auto transmission is preferred as I don't know how to drive a standard. I was thinking something along the lines of a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon or a 1999 Toyota Celica. What are you opinions? What other cute sporty cars are out there. Oh, one last thing: Affordable. Thanks a bunchies!

Update:

honda civic is a no, along with the accord, both have major engine probs apparently.

Update 2:

actually, I've been looking at some more civic things, and its starting to look pretty good...

Update 3:

the saturn coupe sc is def on my list of cars to look at when I'm "shopping"

I would suggest a 2000-2002 Saturn SC coupe or any Saturn Ion coupe. Most have sunroofs and have a reputation as being trouble free. They also get around 33 mpg on the highway. The Honda were good cars a few years ago, but their repair records are horrible.

There is also the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Honda Prelude, Mazda MX-6.

But the Celica seems like the best choice for you because of fuel efficiency and most modern design.
