You just need to push yourself to become more acquainted with "bugs". Try holding a ladybug. No big deal, huh? Then try holding a small spider you find in your home (none are poisonous and don't bite, unless it's a black widow or brown recluse). Try holding and playing with a pill bug (also known as a roly poly). They're actually fun.
Go to a zoo or science museum, where you can trying getting acquainted with other types of insects and learn more about them. Once you understand them, they're not really scary anymore.

I had the same problem once. I used to be afraid of bugs too, even the harmless ones like ladybugs and butterflies.
However, I did something (or more like was dragged into it) that help out my phobia a lot.
One day, me and my family were taking a vacation at this theme park. And there was this really cool butterfly house that my sister wanted to see. I was scared of butterflies, but I had to go because they had to take my sister and didn't want me alone by myself (a was just a little kid BTW).
Anyway, I walked inside and there were butterflies everywhere. I was a little freaked, but since they were so busy flying everywhere, I figured that they'd stay away from me. But a little while in, and I saw one that landed on my shoulder. It just stood there, looking at me with it's little bug eyes. I almost screamed, but all I did was jump. It flew away, and then I thought, "That wasn't too bad. Kinda freaky, but not too bad." So I finished and walked out.
From there, I got better. I'm still a little freaked by some bugs (mainly roaches anywhere and ants inside). But soon, I started not minding a lot of bugs. Even a few spiders started not to bother me.
My advice is to find a way to get a few friends and find a safe, easy to handle way to face your fear. You can try a butterfly house like I did, or you can try other ways, like holding a tarantula at a pet store or something like that. I'm not telling you to go stick your hand in a container full of spiders or anything stupid like that. Like I said, be safe about it.
The reason you need to have friends with you is so you won't run away. Trust me, you will be tempted to run the other way when you see what you're doing. That's normal behavior. It's the difference between saying and doing. Your friends are there to make sure that you do it!
Now, once you face your fear, you may or may not get better. You probably will feel a lot better, but if it doesn't get better, or if it gets worse, I would advise that you get professional help. Obviously, your bug phobia is just surfacing from a deeper problem (just remember that if you need professional help, it does NOT mean that there is anything wrong wrong with you NOR does it mean that your a chicken. That fact that you want to fix the problem proves that you have the strength to do whatever it takes to solve it.) Talk to your parents (or just do it yourself if your living on your own) and get an appointment set up with a doctor.
One last piece of advice I have for you is to pray. If your not a religious person, Just know that I mean no personal offense. But if you are, then prayer is the best way to defeat any problems you will ever have!
I have the confidence that you will eventually find a way to get rid of your fear. I know you can do it!!! Good Luck!
And I hope this helps!

You need to start wearing a pair of those HUGE clown shoes ... that way next time you see a bug you can just step on it ... and with a pair of those shoes you won't even need to get all that close to it either :)
