Why cant I drag and drop a file from host to Microsoft Virtual PC?

Why cant I drag and drop a file from host to Microsoft Virtual PC?

I run Vista Home Premium on my host machine, and XP on the virtual PC. I need to copy files from the host to the virtual PC,but it just doesn't work, neither by drag and drop or copy and paste. Why is that? Does anyone have any idea what to do??

Update:

Thanks Colanth, I discovered I hadn't set it up correctly ... so it was back to the old drawing board .... :)

Go to XP (the virtual PC) - open My Computer. You should have a shared partition to Vista. Find the file there, copy it and paste it to where you want it in the virtual PC's 'drive'. (Mine is called Partition_1 on 'C:\', just to give you an idea.)

constructive it might desire to no difficulty, yet you're able to mount the drives/folders manually. as quickly as the gadget is up and working, suitable-click on the folder icon of the VBox window (shrink suitable corner) and setup some shares. next, open a cmd on the spot and form in: cyber internet use <unused stress letter>: vboxsvr<proportion call> and it is going to mount it. ie: cyber internet use X: vboxsvrmy_downloads_on_c
