Among the constituents of natural air, water vapour(which makes the air humid) is the most highly variable constituent. Thus the proportion of water vapour in air is constantly changing. Not only this, the proportion changes from place to place on the earth's surface.Presence of sea surfaces nearby, rivers, lakes snow and ice surfaces, vegetation and living animals help in supplying water vapour to the atmosphere(by evaporation) over a place. On the other hand, processes in the form of condensation as cloud, fog or precipitation as rain ,snow etc diminish the stock of water vapour in the atmosphere over the same place.

Hence many such factors are responsible for the humid condition of the air over a place
