Internal Speakers not working on Jaunty Ubuntu?
Recently I installed and dual booted Ubuntu and Windows XP on my Mini HP 1030nr. After about half an hour of using Ubuntu, I realized my internal speakers were not working, but my headphones do. Also, I am a newb to Linux so I don't really know that much about it.. If the answer is too long then just e-mail me :)
Thanks for helping, unfortunately it didn't work. I used this guide to help me out though.

This sounds like it would probably be an issue with a driver, as long as you know the speakers still work in Windows. I also dual boot with Ubuntu and there are a lot of things that can seem perplexing but are fixed quite easily.
Go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers in the bar at the top of your screen. If there is a driver recommended for sound, you may consider installing it.
And if you are a total newbie to Ubuntu, I strongly recommend the Ubuntu Community Forums! You'll need to sign up but it will be worth it! You can get help with almost anything, and you can help people who had similar problems to you. It will be an endless resource.
Good luck! And your computer is really cool!
