Options for tuition problems?

I'm completely worried about my tuition. I attend a college that does not accept Stafford or the Federal PLUS loans. After finishing up four semesters, all my scholarships are exhausted. My mother is divorced, filed for bankruptcy almost five years ago, and does not make enough to pay for it. For all purposes I'm completely on my own. The FAFSA is a complete joke, I'm independent on her taxes and independent from any aid yet they still claim I'm dependent.

I'm worried about finishing my last two years, I can only imagine the problems trying to pay for law school. What options do I have, if any?

Perhaps you can look into some outside scholarships? I understand how you feel about the FAFSA. I know a lot of people who are middle-class but because their parents make enough money to put food on the table every night and because they have two cars (simply because they both need to get to work...it doesn't even matter that they're not expensive cars), FAFSA doesn't help them a bit. After looking into scholarships, you should see if you can get a job on campus. Often times, you won't get taxed out as much and it definitely helps. I've held a job on campus as a TA and I don't have Federal Work Study so it's possible.

    Best of luck to you.
