Am I the only one that doesn't want Artest as a Laker?

If this is legit... Why would this be good for the Lakers? Because all I can see is the downside of signing RA in LA.

Convince me otherwise for the BA.

Update:

@:I <3 WALTER! (Hudson Fever!)

Thats a good answer. But you're preaching to the choir buddy. Everything you listed is why I don't want him.

Can anyone here convince me this is good?

Update 2:

Rodman and Artest are to totally different people.

@: Edwin. Rodman knew when it was winning time. Artest doesn't even know what that means. He's lost games for his teams because he can't control himself. Rodman was eccentric, but not a certified lunatic like Ron.

Update 3:

@: King of NJ-Very true. He could be his own reality show all by himself out here.

Update 4:

@:229Time

That's true, but Dennis wasn't playing for a coach he or I liked very much, Dull... er... Del Harris. Then Billy Berka and Kurt Rambis took over coaching duties when Harris was fired that season.

But you made a really good point about Kobe barking a Ron... he might want to think thrice about it.

Knowing how Lamar, Artest and Kobe are mainly all good friends that would help the chemistry between those three and rub on to the already great chemistry of the Lakers. Artest had shown last year with the Rockets that he can lead a team with his leadership and strive to win, even though they lost he still took Lakers to 7 games. Artest will add another "leader" in the line up and also there to help the younger talent on their squad (bench players).

He's an amazing defender, no question on that. His offense has been improving (in my opinion) and will help add to the Lakers. Stress of Kobe having to worry about defending the great offensive players will be taken into Artest's arms now for him to take care of. While Kobe, an already great defender will be on someone he can break down more easier. He even takes some weight off the scorers shoulder. I see more pros than cons with Ron Ron on the Lakers. All there is to it now is for us to wait and see.

Nope, I don't want him to be a Laker (Not a Laker Fan)

I think he will work out well with the Lakers, If Phil comes back.....And Kobe doesn't yell at him on the court (Like he does some of the younger, less talented players).

Ron Proved he could be a good teammate last season, and shows he wants to win, by signing with the Lakers (for less money).

    One problem:

Who knows if he will snap?

Yea Dennis won 5 titles...but what about in the 1998-1999 season? Lakers had an erractic Rodman on it's line-up, But couldn't get along with his teammates and his coach forcing the management to waive him.

-Artest is a little looney, no telling if he will revert to his old ways.

As a Celtics fan I want Artest as a Laker. I dont even think he has a bad attitude, I just see him as detrimental to the Lakers success. He is an amazing defender and decent offensive player, but signing him over Ariza is a terrible move. Artest will want his 13-15 shots a game, but who will they take away from? Kobe? Gasol? I think in the short-run this move will work out, but after next year the Lakers are going to regret letting Ariza go, mark my words.

    Ok,here i go

Artest is a great defensive player that has great shooting skills and all around game in offense. He can be LeBron stopper(anyway LeBron still will score 30 on the Lakers) and any superstar/star stopper who's a guard, forward and etc

Didn't he won a DPOY in 2004.Yes,he did and this just makes the Celtics vs Lakers rivarly even bigger and better. If anyone thinks Cavs and Lakers rivals,he doesnt know what's he talking about

This clearly a great move and besides that,Artest wans to win a championship and to complete his career. And Ariza is going to prove as a star/superstar in Rockets

The both players got what they wanted and their teams too

Its a done deal right now.

And Im sorry but I dont think there is anyway to convince you its good lmao.

I think this messes with the chemistry to match and decreases Lamar Odom's chances of resigning.

I would've rather kept Ariza than got Artest.

Los Angeles and the Lakers with all the media attention is not a good place for Artest

  • first off part of the reason artest is comn 2 la was because of kobe

the lakers have been lookn at artest for years but they were waiting for when he contract opened up and when it did boom

RA in LA= tougher la=LOS ANGELES LAKERS 2010 Champions

now artest can shoot the three which kobe needs because he draws attention when he drives in so..more assist for kobe

and kobe wont have to guard they bigger tougher players

like if la plays cleveland artest would guard lebron= he can

if la plays boston artest would guard paul pierce

so that means kobe could concentrate on another part of his game instead of defense, he could score more, or pass more

    overall=RA in LA=AWESOME

Artest is tough, he's improved a lot offensively, he's got a good relationship with Kobe, he's hungry for a title, he's matured a lot, he's one of the toughest defenders, he brings a lot of intensity which the Lakers sometimes lack.

Cheer up man! this is gonna be a great season.

If they lose Ariza, then Artest will be a good fit. Right now, he's better than Ariza. He's crazy, but Phil could handle Rodman, I think he can handle Artest.

I don't like Artest period. But if Yao is out, might as well just start fresh because Artest can not get a title for Houston without McGrady and Yao

I don't want him either. He thinks he's too good and he was jawing at Kobe in the playoffs. He just wants to make headlines. Artest go HOME!
