Does ballistics jelly work on acids?

do they work just like the human flesh if it is dealing with acids?

or......

does the ballistic jelly just work like the elasticity, the hardness of human flesh?

do they melt if i put vinegar on it?

    Not likely. Ballistic gel is made to test ballistics because the only thing it emulates is the density of human tissue. It doesn't have a chemical structure similar to flesh, this is because it is derived from collagen which is bone tissue and pig's skin. Something it is unable to emulate is the various protective layers of the human body as Gel is homogeneous.

    So it is useful in the latter, elasticity.

    As for the vinegar it is also unlikely, vinegar is highly diluted acetic acid and it's probably not concentrated enough to break it up.

    In order to test the effects of acid on human flesh and skin it's advisable to simply buy some pig parts from a butcher. This would have the added benefit of demonstrating the kind of damage to be expected much more vividly.
