I just made a twitter... now what?

i just made a twitter but the only thing i can figure out is how to update my profile. how can i comment on popular subjects and get the whole twitter experience?

    If you're signed in, just go to twitter.com's front page. Right at the top should be a large text field that says "what are you doing?"

    Type your tweet in there.

    If you'd like to follow other Twitter users, go to their profiles (like Wil Wheaton: http://twitter.com/wilw or MythBusters' Adam Savage: http://twitter.com/donttrythis and right near the top should be a button marked "follow."
