It will most definitely get worse.....The wax gets real hard and unpliable. So the trick is to soften it and remove it. Otherwise, water gets trapped under the wax so ear makes more wax.....and the water stays trapped in the ear canal. This is called "Swimmers Ear" and very common.

Do use the over the counter drops, put cotton ball in and leave it in overnight. On the 5th morning, need to use a soft bulb syringe to try to flush out the softened plug..........may take several syringefuls, lean your head over the sink to try to expel the wax.

To have this done by a professional could be costly, as you would be paying for an office visit along with the procedure.

Can talk with a pharmacist who can recommend over the counter products and can help with a plan as well......

When I was a kid, I had that and the doctor made me put this water like thing in my ear (which looks like a big syringe but it doesn't hurt) to soften the wax and then my Mom removed it for me.

I'm not sure how that costs professionally though, but it's best to go the doctor asap so that it wouldn't get any worse.

Try using hydrogen peroxide. Lay on your side and pour some in your ear and cover it with toilet paper then wait for like a minute or until it stops bubbling..you can feel it bubbling. Then after turn your head to the side and let the peroxide run outta your ear and then do the other side.

I was scared it would go to my brain when I first heared about this from my step sis but it cleaned my ears a bit. Lol

If that doesn't work go to a doctor.
