Army Vs the Marine Corp...Battle?

Army... hands down!

1- They were thinking about getting rid of the Marine Corps all together because they are no longer needed.

2- The Army completely outnumbers the Marine Corps.

3- The Army has better trained soldiers and more of them, 90% of all the Special Operations Guys: Delta(the best of the best), Special Forces, Rangers.

4- The Army has better equipment and more people to man it.

5- The Army has better technology and a bigger budget.

6- The Army has more light armour, artillery, and tanks.

*7*- Just recently... The Army had won a battle, handed it over to the Marines...the Marines couldn't hold it and lost it, handed it back over to the Army, and the Army held it once again. Even in realistic terms the Marines were outclassed by the Army.

The USMC has the power to single-handedly level a small country, but eventually they would be worn down by the numerical superiority of the Army (whom they rely on for much of their logistical support and to consolidate captured territory). So the Army would undoubtedly win eventually, although it would be little more than a husk of it's former self due to the near-complete destruction of it's important infrastructure (which would be the target of choice for the Marines, whose purpose in a conventional war is to strike at the jugular of an opponent's command and supply networks). To conclude, neither force is entirely effective without the other - both the Marines and the Army are designed from the ground up with cooperation with their counterpart in mind and forming a major part of their modus operandi.

Well definitely the Army, 3 Marine Divisions vs 10 Army divisions. However neither service is actually better they have different roles.

It isn't a valid question. Aside from the fact that they wouldn't fight each other, the Army and the Marine Corps have different purposes. They're designed to do different things, but work together for a common goal, not fight each other. It would be like asking "Who would win, your left hand or your right hand?"

US Army= 548000 people

USMC= 201000 people

Army wins on numbers alone.. More money, more equipment. However the Marines will hold represent well and may even come out victorious since they are the experts in amphibious warfare. But based on numbers alone.. the army.

This is honestly the most ridiculous question I've ever seen. They have different roles in war. So the Army would win in what they specialize in and the marines would in what they specialize in.

Im in the navy and I'd say the marines. There ****** CRAZY. I dont think it matters if the count is one to three hundred. The marines do one thing, KILL. They eat **** dream and breath to kill. Yeah the army has the newer more advanced bull ****. But the marines are raised to kill or die trying. USMC=power by force Army= power of numbers

grow up. first off, they would never fight each other, and it's even idiotic to ask. if one branch was really actually better than the other, they would have disbanded that branch a long time ago.
