It depends on the Arab. Yes, arabians are known to have high energy, but like every horse, it depends on how they are raised, and personality. I have known many lazy, push button arabians. they are known to be people pleasers. they will do practically anything for their owners. They are extremely intelligent, and are very quick learners. They can go for miles on trails, or hours in the arena. They are very very versatile. There are cutting arabs, barrel racers, dressage, ropers, jumpers, western pleasure, ranching arabs, racing arabs anything you can think of, they can do almost anything.
I have had nothing but Arabians. An arab was my first horse. As long as you find one that fits your style of riding, and your experience, you will have a friendship that will last a lifetime. Its sad that people put a stamp on the Arabian saying they are too hot headed. Thats just a show horse. They want the show horse to be excited and have a lot of attitude. But when its just a horse to ride, they have very wonderful laid back personalities. I have known many people who had an Arabian as their first horse. And they had the most wonderful horse owning experience from them. Dont let anyone tell you that Arabians are too much to handle for any first time buyer, find the right Arab. Not all of them are high strung. My trainer had 7 year olds riding an Arabian bareback with a rope around its neck.
But to their intelligence, comes, well, intelligence. They can be too smart for their own good. My mare learned how to unlock almost any gate. They are also very sensitive. You have to be very gentle with an Arab. If you yell, they will get scared. If my mare does something I didnt want her to do, she feels my body get tense, then she pops her head in the air and her eyes get big. They are not the type of horse to get forceful with.
They are very social. They were and still are bedouin horses that slept in the tents with the bedouins. It's in their blood to love people.
They have the same care as any other horse. They arent some alien creature that requires such a detailed script of how to properly take care of them. It's a horse. Big or small, they require the same amount of attention, same amount of grooming, and riding (there are exceptions, riding a show horse to a pleasure horse... different regimes).
On how much you need to ride an Arab? That is a strange question. Bout a couple hours a day. Same as any horse. If you plan on buying an Arab, I suggest you take lessons with an Arab trainer, that way, you know exactly what you need to know about an Arab hands on before jumping in on buying a horse.

Arabian horses are very energetic and make great cross-country horses. One of my Arabians, Maddison is my show horse and has won 6 times in the discipline Cross Country, and she's a purebred. Purebred Arabian horses are worth more than cross breed ones. You can tell if an Arabian horse is purebred or not by it's face, if the face is slightly or very dished you can be confident that he or she is purebred. Be careful, they are often very flighty horses, meaning that most are easy to spook. They are also very temperamental but try their hardest to please. Treat it with respect and they will respect you back. You don't need to ride it every day, only around 3 or 4 times a week at least. Make sure you have ridden one before you buy one, just to make sure you can handle it. You can do just about any discipline with Arabians, like I said before, they make exceptional jumpers. If you are looking to buy an Arabian horse ask to ride it before you buy it. If you can't ride him or her, what's the point in having it?
I hope I've helped :)

Arabs are one of the smartest breeds out there and if trained well they can be some of the most fun to ride. They are awesome in most disciplines of riding (hunter/jumpers, equitation, dressage, etc.) They have really nice gaites; a smooth canter, and a springy trot. However, since they are extremely smart, they'll take advantage of you if you think you know what you're doing but you actually dont or if you mess up. You need to ride them just as much as you need to ride any horse. 5 or 6 days out of the week is sufficent and an hour to two hours per ride is also sufficent depending on the amount of energy (which is hardly ever lacking in this breed).

Arabians are very high energy and temperment horses. They are exceptional for endurance riding, and therefore should be ridden everyday if possible, and like strenuous excersize. They are generally all around horses that can be used for most kinds of riding, English, Western, Jumping, Dressage...etc. In addition, due to their high strung nature, unless you are very comfortable with the particular horse and it is very well broke, I would say that it would be best for a very experienced rider with a lot of time to puchase one. They are beautiful horses with generally curious and intellegent personalities, but you should have a lot of time to dedicate to this breed of horse since they are very high maintenence compared to some other breeds. Best of luck!

Arabians are generally high energy horses. They can be very skittish and easy alarmed. keep in mind that arabian in general can be difficult to handle. They aren't recommended for first time horse owners. Although they are super smart and try very hard to please. All horses need regular exercise. It really depends on what you want to do with your horse, but a half hour ride at least 3 times i would say to keep your horse in good shape if you arent planning to compete, but if you are 6 days a week if possible. Arabians are high energy horses keep in mind that its hard to over work an Arab

Arabs are reall beautiful, but can be a bit hot tempered. Also, riding them is no different from any other breed. You need to devote the same amount of time as you would for a quarter horse, thoroughbred, knabstrupper, whatever.
