Whats wrong with me? Please answer?
I know this isnt exactly related to the Adolescent section, but I am an adolescent and I always get a lot of answers here so please:
When im alone I get so scared and freaked out..like im gonna go into panic. I start thinking of bad things that scare me..like death and hospitals. I just wanna cry. I feel like I need to be surrounded by people. My boyfriend is going on a month long trip and he just left my house and im already crying my eyes out. I want him. I dread the days when my mom has to go to work, because I dont wanna be alone in the house. Im scared of night time, because my brother is asleep and so is my mom and i dont want to be alone. Im scared of spending too much time in my room and im always wanting to go sit with someone. Every time my mom or my friends go somewhere I try to go too. Im texting or calling people constantly and im always trying to get constant attention.
Im just ready for school to start already so I can go back and see all my friends and my boyfriend everyday and be surrounded by a lot of people for eight long hours. Whats wrong with me? I used to love night and having alone time in my room and having the house to myself, etc. but every time those opportunities come up I feel like hyperventilating. I need people and i need company. Im crying right now. I wish my boyfriend was still here. Someone help?
Dawne, its not really just night time, its mainly just being alone during the night. People are asleep and it gets quiet. I dont wanna be in my room, but the living room is no better cuz no one is in there D=
Cass, yea I got two puppies lol and earlier I was watching disney channel, but now im watching comedy central. Its cheering me up =D

I dont think you need to see a therapist, but you should face your fears. Have a GREAT time alone, reading a teenage novel, drawing, playing a good game.
You should constantly occupy yourself by activities outside... you can play a sport, or try to learn how to play the guitar from youtube. Get a rubiks cube, and learn to solve it..... from youtube of course xDD.
Find something that interests you that you can do alone.... maybe at first, have your mom be in the house, and you in your room... and just enjoy the time you have....
I dont know.... but facing your fear is the best way to get rid of it. =D
Good luck

I do that too, but mostly at night because that is really the only time I am alone and not distracted by television or computers, etc.
Except I think of all the bad in the world, and things that are just wrong with everyone in this world.
What I did, is I found a friend that I could talk to and cry to - it makes me feel a bit better. Plus I found a new hobby. Excersicing, its safe, healthy and makes you tired at the end of the day - so when you are alone, you want to sleep not panic.

I am the same way. I find not crying often helps and i just have a good long cry about once a month. But im depressed it could have something to do with it so i don't know but i do need to be surrounded by peeps. Talk to your mom and go see a therapist i do and i feel much better.

It's probably because the asker forgets or doesn't bother to pick the best answer. I think some people go back and look at questions that they've answered and if they're "In Voting" they vote for their answer. If nobody else votes for a different answer then they will win best answer by default. This probably explains why sometimes dumb, bad or wrong replies are picked as "best answer". I don't really care if my answer is chosen as best. But if I take the time to type out a serious, decent answer to someone's question it's nice to get at least a 'thank you' when the choose the best answer. When I pick a best answer to a question I ask I try to thank the other users who gave good answers (and chastise ones that give stupid or insensitive answers)

I think everybody gets like that. And I really am not sure how to get rid of it. Do you have a cat? Dog? sometimes it help. I always felt safer with my dog around. She was a little ankle bitter, but damn she could tear you apart if I was homealone and an adult that she didn't know very well came in. Sorry sweetie, that's really all I can think of. Even (this may sound crazy) gives ya somebody to talk to.
You know what else sometimes helps? Watching little kid shows(:
Good luck hun, and remember us people are here on Y!A if you needa talk too(or at least I am!) There's IM and email links on my prodfile(:

You should definitely have to go see a therapist or a counsellor ASAP because only they will be able to help you with this.
as to the night when you sleep, it helps having a tv or a computer turned on while you sleep so won't feel completely alone.
But it sounds to me that what you're experiencing is called: Anxiety.

go talk to a therapist and really do it. im not calling you crazy or anything but with the way your thinking, a therapist can really help you out. tell your mom too. if she thinks ur joking and laughs and you, dont be discouraged. go to your school counseler and talk to her about it or find friends to talk with. but seriously, go find a therapist. Don't get too clingly with your boyfriend and ur friends. they'll start getting annoyed and i dont mean to be rude by saying that but they probably will.
Source(s): I have a friend who feels the same way and has constant panic attacks because of it. her therapist perscibed her medications for it. her mom laughed at first but she told me about how she feels and me and her talked to the school counslere who talked to her mom who got her a therapist. - 1 decade ago
Oh honey, have you talked to your mom about this? Did something happen to you at night for you to be so scared? You really need to tell someone. Go to your mom let her know how you feel.
I tell my kids that there is NOTHING there at night that isnt there in the day time. Please go to your mom and let her know whats going on.
