Ferret or Sugar Glider?
Anyone with expericne in these little guys? I am trying to make up my mind on who to get. If it is sugar Glider I am getting two. But I want to know caring which one is more time consuming. Also, smelliness, which one is stronger, I know ferrets smell pretty strong. How about cleaning, which one makes more of a mess? I know both are very social and friendly, so I will be able to spend time with them.
Thanks in advance!

I would take a ferret over a glider any day. Ferrets have been in the domestic animal category for centuries and make good affectionate pets.
Gliders are no way domesticated, they are exotic aliens and should not be bred for the pet trade. They do not enjoy being handled, they pee on you and bite, they are nocturnal and day light hurts their eyes. You will have a very tough time finding a vet who will know anything about its normal health or illnesses or will even be willing to have one in its office because little to nothing is known about their ability to transmit zoonotic disease.
Either will require daily handling if you want it to be comfortable with you. A ferret let out into a play proofed room will provide great entertainment for you and your family and when they have run around and worn themselves out a little they are snuggly.
Gliders have a particular odor of their own. They do not use a litter pan. They pee all over their cage and the whole thing must be washed with hot water and soap to get the evaporated urine off the perches and wires.
Ferrets are musky smelling, the name is mustella putoris after all and if you frighten one it can still produce a rancid odor even after being neutered and descented. They are very easy to litter train unless they are playing outside the cage. They get so involved with play they forget to go back to use the box. Cleaning the litter pan daily and giving it a good hot bleach bath weekly will keep the odor down. Don't bathe the ferret unless it gets into real dirt and mess. Clean bedding and cage surfaces will keep it smelling clean and nattural and water/soap baths don't help the natural aroma, in fact it can make the coat too dry and then the oil glands work overtime and it is more smelly than ever.
Go for the ferrets and hope the gliders get sent back to Australia where they belong.

Ferrets! Sugar Gliders can't be potty trained and go on YOU! A ferret can be trained to use a litter box. Sugar Gliders are very stupid too. Ferrets are easier and less time consuming, and don't bite as much. You will need two of either because they will both die without a companion. I have had both and Sugar Gliders are the worst pets you can ever get. Ferrets are very smart, unlike Sugar Gliders. Ferrets are also more playful and loving. While sugar gliders are mean and keep you up all night barking because they are nocturnal. Please dont get a sugar glider no matter what!

ok, so I even have the two. i admire the two the two, yet i could could say that sugar gliders are far greater relaxing. i admire only observing them consume and seeing what they'll do next. i enable me 3 sugar gliders run around my room, one thinks he's a gymnast. he runs on the best of my exercising ball till he cant save up or falls to the ingredient and has to bounce off. the variation between the two is that, sugar gliders have a stricter weight loss application, they want a great number of protein, end result, and greens. those could be clean, no canned meals. you could freeze them additionally. there are distinctive diets you will get off line. im confident you have study this. sugar gliders will urine and poop on you. ferrets are muddle container experienced. the two want a great number of exercising accepted. sugar gliders sleep in the process the day, so while you're preserving them on your mattress room, be arranged to positioned on ear plugs, they are going to be fairly noisy haha. you could save the two in pairs. they'll become depressed in the event that they are not stored with a minimum of another if its type. sugar gliders are usual to stay longer then ferrets, my oldest ferret is 7, and my sugar gliders are around 4 years previous, yet they could stay to be around 12 yrs previous provide or take some years stable success

i would say ferret. they're messier, they're smellier, they're probably more time-consuming. but sugar gliders are nocturnal and make lots of noise while you're trying to sleep...boring!
