How did you feel after having your membranes stripped? Any changes you could notice?
Im 39 1/2 weeks got mine done a couple hours ago, im 3 centimeters, my cervix is halfway gone or thinned i dont remember and baby is low and ready!
I have been bleeding a lot since i left she said that would be normal, feeling ALOT of pressure when i walk or sit more if i sit. Cramping and just miserable. I think i have had a couple contractions. With the pressure and cramping i cant be sure what im feeling.
How did you feel if you had this done. My doctor said i go anytime and if not i am being induced at 5 am. I am scared and nervous. my first is 7 so its been a while.
What should i expect? Looking for personal stories not really professional opinions(those are welcome too)
Thanks, im so excited!
by the way it hurt like hell, and can you take a bath after having this done.

I had my membranes stripped at 39 weeks (I was 2 centimeters and my cervix was 90% thinned), had the bleeding and pressure then it all stopped. My doctor believed I would be having my baby that same day because I'd been having contraction, I ended up being induced at 41 weeks.
The induction medicine is awful (pitocin) because it causes the contractions to be stronger and come frequently so before I got my epi for a good hr I was having nonstop contractions (they'd come every 2 mins and last a min so I never got a break from the pain)
Mind you the pitocin took 8 hrs to start having an effect on me
I had the epidural and about 3 hrs later I started pushing
Hope this gave you an idea of what the induction experience was like for me
Good Luck =]

Congrats.. I felt the same way after having mine done. The cramping was really bad. I started having contractions 2 days later and gave birth to my daughter 4 days later. You will know when you are in labour.. I had a bath a few times after having it done. My doctor told me I could to help ease the pain of the contractions

Painful? It shouldn't of been painful. as quickly as I have been given mine stripped it did no longer harm somewhat. yet i'm puzzled. in the event that they stripped your membranes why are not you admitted to the scientific institution? via fact after mine have been stripped I beginning pushing no longer long after. it may take some hours to dilate yet take it difficulty-free. attempt to get an epidural in case you could. it will artwork out only appropriate. Congratulations!!

i got mine stripped on my due date. my doc said to go down to the cookie shop and order this cookie called the coconut spice and go walk around the rest of the day and that i would be in labor the next day or 2. I was also 3 centimeters. not even an hour after i eat this cookie ( i ate 2 they were so good) i started having contractions and first thing in the morning I was in the hospital having my lil guy. This cookie is coconuts and cinnamon mine also had chocolate chips. idk if you like coconuts but its worth a shot.
