Which online dating site is the best to use and why?

Online dating sites that are free will only be the crappy ones that you get spammed by with porn offers etc. as I've found out for myself.  Plus the free sites like Craig's list are not exactly what I would feel comfortable about using for online dating services ever since those stories of the escort girl getting murdered by some crazy guy.  

I want a good service that is safe to use and meet someone that is perfectly matched for me.  I've been looking at tons of these online dating sites and found out many of them offer you the free trial membership like I found at this link here from someone's promotional thing from yahoo answers here... http://www.my-linker.com/hop/Matchcom-7-day-Free-Trial 

Then I found Match's partner dating service which was the chemistry site I've seen all those funny commercials for on T.V.  There was even a news report interview I got to watch from someone's website youtube page that had some interesting things about the profile matching chemistry thing that I'm interested in at this page:

So I'm wondering how well this personality matching system stuff really works and if I'm just not a likeable person.  Because eharmony didn't match me with anyone and said "no matches at this time" when I filled out their super long and tedious profile questionaire.  Does anyone have another recommendation and could you explain "why" you would choose one online dating site over the other?  

What makes an online dating service better then another and are the profile chemistry matching type systems they use all the same?  Or do they use different kinds?  What's the best online dating site to use in your opinion?  Please help me make a good choice.

I know how scary it is to be out there and dating again.  I would say after looking at that page you listed for chemistry place that one looks like the best to me.  Just be safe about your online dating site choices.  Some of them are scams.  

I took a look at that http://everythingaboutlove.org/Chemistry.html you got there, and I laughed my @ss off.  I totally remember that video with the guy looking at the Playboy and then says,  "Nope!  ...still gay!"  ...ReJeCTeD by eHarmony!    that was several years ago I think when I saw that commercial.  That seems to be chemistry.com's biggest selling point is the fact that they take the rejects from eharmony =P  LOL.... that could be a bad thing though who knows <shrug>
Come as you are is their motto.... be careful about meeting a whackado... you never know what kind of creep is lurking online dating sites... then again, you could just as easily get mugged, rapped, and murdered simply meeting some crazy nutjob in a bar.
