What is the best way to paint a pine picnic table?
Hello,
I just purchased an unfinished pine wood picnic table. I want it to last a long time but have been having a hard time trying to find out the best way to finish it. Does anyone know the best way to do this (ie sand, prime, paint, seal)? Also any particular brands / types of paint?
Thanks

First, you sand the table with 100 grit sand paper. Second, you sand the table with 200 grit sand paper till the table is nice and smooth. Third, you use some cheese cloth to remove all of the dust from the table. You then use a wood primer/sealer ( i suggest Behr Primer/sealer) ( Home Depot). After the primer has had time to dry you then can paint two coats ( Behr Exterior Paint Eggshell or Semi-Gloss) what ever color your heart desires.

you should sand it down and if you want to be even extra cautious you can put a coat of primer on it then you can paint it
