Truth, Justice, and the American way?
My friend just commented on our 'American superhero phenomenon'. Isn't it funny how all the major super heroes come from America? Doesn't it really speak to our great individualist principles?
In socialist Europe, Superman couldn't exist because it wouldn't be 'fair' that he could fly and run faster than a speeding bullet, while everybody else had to stay on the ground, moving at normal speeds. In socialist Europe, they would probably put weights on Superman to keep him down at everybody elses level. Or rather, to keep things 'fair'.
After all isn't it greedy and selfish of Superman to exercise his full potential, when that potential is so far out of the reach of the rest of us?
In Europe, they might have a hero called 'collectivist man'. He brings them all together as one single unit. LOL

Hmm... Well as it turns out socialist europe (russia you are referring to) monitor their children from an early age. Children are taught for the first 2 - 3 years with overarching general information but when a child shows natural skill in a particular area they are further trained in that area so they can reach their true potential for the good of the society.
Nicolai Tesla was a Serbian, he is responsible for AC electricity and was so ahead in his field it took our scientific community years to catch up with some of his theories (others are still beyond our grasp) he was regarded as a madman. His most impressive invention is called the Tesla Coil look it up its way cool..
NASA encountered a problem operating in space. Astro-naughts could not write using pens. No gravity then nothing feeding ink into the pen. America spent millions developing a pen that works in space. Russian Cosmonauts simply used a pencil.
The leading developments in Hot-fusion power generation technology better known as a Tokamak device was developed in Russia.
You mock Socialist society because you don't understand it. Yes there are certain things that Capitalist society promotes that Socialism just doesn't do. Socialism doesn't really work on a large scale as motivation levels have to be generated at the point of a gun.
Superman would still be exalted in a socialist society but he would also be press ganged into servitude at the point of a Krypton gun.

The expression "The American Way" was invented in the early Superman comics and has now been adopted by political and military jingoists all over America. Whereas patriotism is simply the act of loving one's country, it is shown that, in the U.S. nationalism has become an extreme devotion to unilateralism and predominance. Nationalism - as opposed to patriotism - has this one steadfast rule: The nation has to be above all others. This new American nationalism is therefore something to be very wary of. From an early age Americans are indoctrinated with this narrow, fervent flag-waving kind of nationalism which is mistakenly called 'patriotism'. They are inculcated with a sort of 'my country, right or wrong' mentality and this is an ongoing process. Americans are cocooned in the 'red, white, and blue' and 'the flag' is everywhere, ever-present just as it was in soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. They are taught that 'the American Way' - a phrase invented in old Superman comics - is always 'better'. Indeed. they have been brought up to be a sort of superious 'Americankind', transcending ordinary humankind. In short, Americans are now as 'conditioned' just as much as the Soviets and German Nazis ever were.

The creators of Superman were both Jews. I think I heard somewhere that Superman came from the need for hope devolving from nazi's in WW2. They were looking for a "savior" and made a fictional one to instill hope. In this scenario, Superman is a metaphor for the Messiah. Someone to vanquish enemies wherever they might crop up.Truth, Justice and the American way are the exact opposite of typical European socialism and communism. Rugged individualism and the freedom to succeed-or fail-by your own hand, is the dream of many around the world. Depending on others for your happiness and blaming them for your failures is the typical mindset of the liberal, humanist, socialist progressives.

With all of Superman's speed, strength, and intelligence, I always wondered why he always seemed to get his ace kicked before defeating his enemies? Maybe THAT is the American way now. Let people take advantage of you and kick you around so that you have an excuse to finally do the right thing.

Who got to space first? The capitalist, individualist Americans or the team work by the Socialist Soviet scientists?
After the Russians put the first satellite into space and the first man into space, the US created NASA, and with the help of former Nazi German scientists, utilized Soviet-style teams to develop the Apollo program. It worked.
The lone swaggering hero ala John Wayne and Rambo, works in the movies, but in real life if you want to get anything done, you must work as a collective team or you will fail miserably.

Batman is a death squad member, a rich man, linked to Police and huge Corporations. The kind of "hero" needed by US Imperialism on these times of irreversible decline of Capitalism.
We , Bolsheviks, are very happy, this deepening world crisis is unstoppable, even "superman" is impotent.
I repeat, we are very happy!

What are you talking about? I think someone is playing with your mind if you heard this rant from somewhere.
I guess the founder of Ikea in Sweden didn't exercise his full potential, or the founder of BMW, VW, Daimler Benz, etc.
