I heard giving 1 teaspoon of vinegar in the water dish (for them to drink) will keep the fleas off.

Ceder bedding & regular vacuuming in your house too.

**really the flea drops are the way to go. I found a coupon in the paper and was able to get a pretty good discount.

Stay away from commerical flea products as they contain chemical insecticides for flea control can cause liver damage and other problems – both for your pet and for you. Instead you can try to use Canine Target Spray which is an all-natural alternative. It is a highly effective insect repellent, which discourages dog fleas from nesting on your best friend.

Cut a lemon up into quarters, boil it, then let it sit overnight. Then put the water in a spray bottle and spray this all over your dog.

diatomaceous earth. It can be found at garden stores... it takes the hard shell off of the fleas, thus killing them.

    DAWN dishsoap.

No joke, but it has to be DAWN. It's really great for puppies, rescues I work at use it often, not sure about adult dogs.
