Internet explorer keeps opening tabs continuously!!!?
My internet explorer (windows vista, and laptop) keeps opening new tabs on its own !! I have noticed it does it not all the time, but reguarly. When it happens it wont let me control the web page,or close it, so the only way i can control it is to do ctrl + alt + del , to terminate the web browser running!
I have also noticed,it has been doing it everytime i am logged onto ebay . Its usually happening when im on the ebay website and logged on.
Dont know what is causing this, i have done lots of virus scans and checks, and the laptop says it contains no sorts of viruses or threats!
Anyone have any idea's what may be causing it etc??
Thanks

I have this same thing happen from time to time as well. It just did so that is what brought me to your question. I have also seen this question from someone that has Firefox so it must not be the browser and more likely the website. I was on an MSNBC article and when I went to try to navigate back to the MSN homepage it wouldn't let me and kept opening the same article. I have the new malwarebytes AVG2014 and Norton360 and have run them all. I noticed that when the tabs were opening one after the other that it sounded like my pop up blocker was blocking quite a few things as well. It I hate to say behaved like some of those sites from the mid 90's that kept opening new tabs only this was the same page over and over. I heard there is a fix for this from MS but do not know where to find it and have done an explorer update. Since firfox has reported this as well I am reluctant to switch just yet although I like it as well. Heard the new Firefox will be as bloated as Chrome and Explorer though.

I see that you have run virus scans
However i would like to ask you to run 2 more scans
Please download these 2 programs
Malwarebytes:
1)Once installed run Full scan
2)if it finds any "infected files" tick and remove them
3)Restart
Hijack This
http://www.hijackthis.de/ (top right corner, direct download)
1)once downloaded open it
2)accept the warning that comes up
3)click "Do a Scan and Save log"
4)The log will open in Notepad, do select all (CTRL+A) and copy the text (CTRL+C)
5)now go back to http://www.hijackthis.de/ and Paste (CTRL+V) the text into the site Analyser
6)click analyse and see which entries come up as "BAD" with an X
7)Go back to hijack this and tick the ones from the site analyser
8)click Fix Checked
9)Restart and see if the problem persists
Sorry if it sounds long, but now days malware is getting harder to remove
Hope all goes well!

Well
You can download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox from here http://bit.ly/1p6k8zf
Mozilla Firefox is one of the world's most popular web browsers and, to me, it's the best.

This is one of the reasons to ditch Internet Explorer!
Get firefox..there's lots of cool add-on's to make browsing a lot more pleasant experience.
I'd never go back to IE now!

Just stop using Internet Explorer..

I'm not sure, but you can try using Firefox instead. Or just another browser. I myself have never had that happen because I always use Firefox.
