Ramadan: Not intending to cause any uproar...?

But sometimes I wonder why is it sometimes that some insult the Prophet (pbuh)'s wife, Aisha (ra)? Why?

Thanks,

Darcie.

    Salaamalaiku wa Rehmatullahi wa Barakatahu,

There is a difference in cursing and disdaining oneself from a person. In the Shia faith we do not accept anyone who disrespects the Prophet or his Ahlul Bayt who are his successors. In the Shia faith we have a concept of Tabarra which means dissociating oneself from the enemies of the Ahlu l-Bayt. We do not believe in the concept of cursing some may curse out of emotions but that is not part of the Shia faith.

The Shi'a view of Aisha is generally a negative one. This is primarily due to what they see as her contempt for the Ahl al-Bayt (The Prophet Muhammad's family) and her attempts to stir up the fitnah of the time. Her participation in the Battle of Jamal is widely considered her most significant sign of such contempt. They also do not believe that she conducted herself in an appropriate manner in her role as Muhammad's wife although most still recognize her as the mother of believers (Umm al-Mu'minin).

    Lawfulness of criticism

Sunnis assert that because 'A'ishah is the wife of the Prophet, criticizing her is paramount to criticizing him. Shi'as counter this by referring to the situation of both Nuh and Lut's wives told in the Qur'an:

“ Allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve the wife of Nuh and the wife of Lut: they were both under two of Our righteous servants, but they acted treacherously towards them so they availed them naught against Allah, and it was said: Enter both the fire with those who enter.(Surah at-Tahrim, Ayah 10) ”

Ismail ibn Kathir, a renowned commentator on the Qur'an[1] , said on this verse: "Therefore, all the intimate knowledge of their husbands neither helped them nor prevented punishment, hence Allah's statement, (So, they availed them not against Allah) means, because their wives were disbelievers"[2]

    [edit] Wife of Muhammad

    [edit] Status as favorite wife

Shi'as reject the idea that 'A'ishah was the Prophet's favorite wife and believe that Muhammad favored none of his wives in compliance with the Qur'anic verse:

“ Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.

    (Surah an-Nisa', Ayat 3)

They also quote Muhammad:"When a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down."[3]

    [edit] Character

Shi'as reject the general Sunni belief that 'A'ishah was the best woman of her time. All Shi'as (and some Sunnis) uphold that Fatimah, the Prophet's daughter and Ali ibn Abi Talib's wife is the greatest women ever whilst Shi'as also uphold her as infallible. They cite the following hadith:

    Imam Ahmed records:

Anas narrated that the prophet (s) said: "The most excellent of the women of all worlds are: Maryam the daughter of al-Imran, Khadijah the daughter of Khuwaylid, Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad, and Asiyah the wife of Pharaoh"[4][5]

The fact that Khadijah is mentioned whilst 'A'ishah is not, shows firstly that she wasn't the greatest women of her time and secondly that she wasn't even the most pious of the Prophet's wives according to Shi'a Muslims.

    [edit] Jealousy

It is known that 'A'ishah was jealous of Muhammad's other wives,[6] especially his first wife- Khadijah.[7][8] She is also criticized for deceiving the Prophet and hatching a plan with Hafsa bint Umar to stop him spending a long time at Zaynab bint Jahsh's house.[9][10][11] They believe this shows a severe amount of disrespect and insubordination to her husband. The following verses of the Qur'an are unanimously agreed by scholars to be referring to 'A'ishah and Hafsa:[12][13]

“ When the Prophet confided unto one of his wives a matter, but when she divulged it (unto others) and God apprised him therefore, he made known a part of it and avoided a part; so when he informed her of it, said she: ‘Who informed thee of this?’ He said: ‘Informed, me, the All-Knowing, the All-Aware’. If you both (women) repent to Allah, (it is better for you), for your hearts have swerved from the right path and if you supported each other against the Prophet, you should know that Allah is his Protector, and after Him Gabriel and the righteous believers and the angels are his companions and helpers. Happily his Lord if he divorceth you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, repentant, prayerful, observers of fast, widows and virgins.

    (Surah at-Tahrim, Ayat 3-5)

The Shi'a website Answering-Ansar.org (which has been shown to be a dishonest source of information by Sunnis)[14] comments on this verse:

"Some Ahl al-Sunnah assert that since 'A'ishah was the most superior wife then that means that she was the most superior of all women. Not only is the claim that she was the most superior wife baseless, the fact of the m

Did Aisha take the copy of Qur'an the Prophet had and hid it someplace so that Hafsah would not take it and deliver it to Abu Bakr and his pal Umar?

Because if it got in their hands, it would be altered and there would not be an original preserved uncorrupted copy that Allah promised?

Where did Aisha hide the Prophet's copy on whatever various materials it was written on? Where is it buried or hidden today?

Did Aisha and Ali really have severe disagreement and that is why Aisha led a group away? Or were they both smart enough to realize what was happening and what was going to happen and that they couldn't stop these people who had so many others fooled, and so with Allah's blessing, pulled a ruse to purposefully divide the ummah?

What did Aisha do with Prophet's copy of Qur'an?

Sorry but your question is silly. The endorsement of any organization is not the doing of the political person and, Mr Obama is not endorsing Al-Qaeda, so what is your problem are you just a sore loser ,or are you trying to plant something negative, where it don't belong? When Ronald Reagan was elected president a terrorist faction who where holding Americans hostage released them the day he took office in an act that could have been taken as an endorsement , no one questioned that.

This is what history did: Changing BLACK to WHITE and WHITE to complete BLACK, history also set some no-go-areas in the religion, may be that is why many people are feeling convinced about some act of worship because there was no logical reasons provided for them and they deprived people from going to where the they can get the secret of the religion in its purest form. May God guide us.

The fact is that may has happened and the history made people like you to believed that it was right and turned what is right to be wrong. If you want to know the truth, start making a deep research with a clear mind and in-sha-Allah god will guide you to the right path. Thank you.

@george shut up man ...i think you want a seat in hell

@asker ... We should not curse or insult aisha (ra) or any of prophets wives ... They should be given full respect.... We cannot judge them .. Everything that happened or did not is between them ,prophet (pbuh) and Allah... Atleast if we say we love the prophet(pbuh) we must honour and respect his wives ... And those who do that are themselves accountable

In the matter of Wives of the Holy Prophet SAW, it is better for all Muslims to observe silence unless the dialogue is conducted with certain civility. My experience with Muslims (both Shia and Sunni) is that a civil dialogue can be held. It is the wahabi/salafi/neo-khawarij cult that rants and raves along illogical lines.

The only matters that are often raised between the Sufi/Shia Muslim and Sunni Muslim is following with regards to Umm ul Muslimeen Ayesha, are largely historical matters.

These of course rankle with the Shia/Sufi Muslims, but are recorded in Sunni texts too, so there is no reason to get upset (or rude about it). Surah Tahrim was reavealed in the context of Ayesha RA, she wrongly led the war against a Rightly Guided Caliph, she opposed the burial of Imam al-Hasan next to the Holy Prophet.

    ---

Her marriage age was about 20 or 21.

I do not know the exact circumstances of her death but do know that she became bitterly opposed to Muawiya after he killed her brother, Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, in a very brutual fashion.

  • They are the Shee'ah which are a deviated cult that does not have much to do with Islaam.

The Shee'ah have gone to extremes in their exaggerated "love" for the blood relatives of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, to the point that they have hatred for the closest friends and some of the wives of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The scholars of Islaam do not tolerate such views, because the Shee'ah have gone far astray from the Qur'aan and the life example of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The Shee'ah also distort the meaning of the Qur'aan and interpret it in a manner that was completely unknown to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his followers.

Shi'ites do...because allegedly Ayesha and Osman (The Third Caliph) waged a war against Ali, who is revered by Shi'ites, when he was Caliph and the assasin who killed Ali was allegedly hired by them...
