Why do you think Tony Stewart is so good this season?
Is Tony going to become the "09 Cup Champion? I thought he was just being cool and running up front just to make the chase. But he's our points leader, and he seems flawless. Is Jimmie Johnson going to have his competition handed to him in the chase. I think we still need to factor in Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards, but Tony Stewart is just running so incredibly strong. Scary strong. Why do you think Tony Stewart is so good this season?

I think Tony has the drive to put all the naysayers in the shut up room. He's shoving it in the face of all the people who said that his career was over when he switched to Toyota's. He was never comfortable in Toyota's.
I think Tony has a great chance at being the 2009 champ.

There are really a bunch of reasons. 1.) He has better equipment with chevy
2.) He may be part of Stewart Haas Racing but the hendrick drivers consider him one of there own and the bigger the race team the more drafting partners you have.
3.) At Joe Gibbs he had an above average crew but now he has a GREAT All Star crew.
4.) last year he crashed alot but this year he's been avoiding all the crashes.
and 5.) This year he's got experience and he has more support.
And for your second question I'm 95% sure that he'll win the championship. In fact the only way he wouldn't win a championship is if he totally messes up and Jimmie/Jeff win 2 or 3 more races. It's possible but not likely.

Tony Stewart is good because he is one of the best drivers ever.Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards are not even good this season so forget about them. The media just loves to talk about them even if they do bad.Remember Jeff Gordon led the points most of the season I think him and Jimmie Johnson will be the two guys Tony will have to look out for.Jeff Gordon will go into the chase with more wins than anyone and will win the championship. He has some real good tracks for him coming up.Look out for Nascar's greatest driver who the media loves to ignore. Can't ignore him if he wins the championship.Go Jeff

Tony's always been a late season bloomer. He usually doesn't really get rolling until May. He may be unstop-able late in the season based on how he's running now. I think its going to be a three way battle for the championship. Stewart and Gordon are the best too drivers right now. But you know by the time we get to homestead Johnson will be in the mix. Martin's been running strong too but I think he'll have a better shot if he runs the full season next year.

There is a good chance that Tony will be the '09 Cup Champion. He has excellent equipment plus he can drive a loose race car. The COT cars drive the best when they are loose, Tony is very good with a loose car. Open wheel cars are driven loose that is where Tony's background is from. One other thing, is when Tony is HOT he is very hot when he is cold he is very cold. There does not seem to be a meduim with Tony. Hopefully, Tony has not peaked too early this year.

Right place, right situation is what I say. Tony Stewart is thriving because he enjoys what he is doing right now because he is having good results. Stewart usually loves general motor products so it was right for him step away after Toyota came on and Kyle Busch stole his thunder and JD Gibbs sold him off by not giving him the best stuff. My support for Tony is growing since his move to his own machinery and I hope he does well in the future and beyond. Godspeed Tony.

I think the man is just happy! Tony started his own team and that team is doing incredibly well. Tony also has top of the notch equipment - he did his homework before he got started. He also has Ryan Newman who's a good strong driver. His choices in personnel were top notch, too. Smoke has just been making the right decisions. He knows how to separate himself as an owner and as a driver. The whole set up does seem flawless, doesn't it!
This is a great season, isn't it?
Stewart Haas Racing...............................

Haas Racing had HMS equipment last year so I don't see how that is the answer.
Tony has always been a driver that did exceptionally well when motivated. When he missed the chase that year he suddenly started winning races in the chase because he was motivated to prove he was still a great driver.
I also thing Darien Grubb has been a big factor. He is a great crew chief who has Hendrick motor/chassis experience. A little know fact is Grubb helped Tony Eury jr the first half of last year. When Grubb left Earnhardt jr was in third place.
Owning his team has motivated him this year and Darien Grubb has him in fast cars.

He has his own team driving Chevrolets again and he has the money from sponsorship to give him the best equipment. With his talent as a driver, it is no wonder he is winning. He is a summer driver and I look for him to win 2 or 3 more before the end of the year. Kyle Busch is not a good Chase driver and Carl Edwards (who I personally like) is way behind his pace of 2008.

Looks like the stars just lined up for Tony. It helps to be in the best equipment, but I’ve also heard him praise the people around him. I think one key is how well he works with his crew chief. Sometimes it takes a while for a new driver and crew chief to click and work well together. But those two have hit the ground running and they look like they’ve been doing this for years.

He is and always has been a very good driver. He is now also a Co- Owner of the car he drives. And it didn't hurt a thing for him to get hooked up with HMS. Even his crew chief is a former HMS employee. The Chevy thing is just talk, if that was why he didn't run well last year he would have said so. He is a lot happier now and I would like to see him win another championship!!
