Is $375 a week for a nanny job in NY good? Considering age of children 13, 11, and 4 almost 5?

7:30 to 7:30 and I will be living with them.

Update:

5 days a week.

You're going to be doing 12 hour days at a normal work week (of 40 hours) that works out to be roughly $9.38 an hour. if you are doing this 7 days a week? it is much less.

But, again you have to consider food, shelter etc etc.

In New York, I can almost guarantee the rate is probably much higher...

Again these are 12 hour days. even if you did it 5 days a week. thats 60 hours a week. 4 kids, is not an easy thing to handle. I still don' know how my mom handled 7 of us... God Bless her...

    Think about it.,..

Is there some kind of consulting you could do from home?? Or some kind of free lance or part time work that would mesh well with the family schedule? The extra money might be nice, but it won't be any good if you're paying it all out to childcare & babysitters. And I don't know that I'd leave any kid with a bunch of little ones all day long if you are working. I am sure some teens can handle a couple of hours, but they will get overwhelmed quickly.

Yes, it is more than generous...you will not have any living expenses will you...no rent, no food unless you go out, no phone, no heat, no electricy. You'll only have your own personal expenses...so add to that amount the cost of all those things you won't have to pay for and that is your actual earnings. I'm a grocery store cashier and have a side small business and have a house and three kids and have to pay all the bills and don't make that much money.

its less then minimum wage, but they pay living expenses, so I don't know, do you live and eat with them even when not working? if, then its ok, otherwise no!
