"The Host" by Stephenie Meyer...?
So, I have read the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, and in my opinion, they are really good books. I am running out of things to read, which you already know if you answered my previous question, and someone told me to read "The Host". I read the summary a while back, and found it very confusing. To all of you who have read it, is it confusing? Would you recommend it to me? Thanks in advance...

I agree. :D Even though it was a bit too blunt and harsh.... JK Rowling spent 5 whole years planning out her series, while Meyer took... What..? 3 months? JK Rowling was extremely dedicated with her series, and she appreciated her fans a lot. Meyer, on the other hand, seems to be really annoyed that her fans just don't, 'understand,' Twilight at all... >__> Stephenie Meyer... Her writing isn't there yet, as well as her dedication to it... (Midnight Sun? Hmmm...) Her writing is... Well, the tension is really slow pacing, so that's why people can't put it down, because there's that 'tension,' in parts of the story. The problem is, is that she's very inconsistent with her writing. Some parts in the book are soooooo boring and it drags on and on.... Also, the logic just doesn't work... >___> JK Rowling, with her creativity and imagination, I think she has gained respect in the literature world. Same with Stephen King. Now... Stephenie Meyer... Maybe later... Her writing needs to improve and mature a bit... :)

It is very hard to follow when you first read it at least. I loved the twilight series and in my opinion it is not as good as those are. If you are really hard up for a read then I would give it a go. It isn't horrible but it wasn't my favorite. I would probably read twilight again (5th time i think....) before I read the host again.

Well first off it is way different from twilight, it is a good book but almost a complete one eighty, but as long as you can keep up it's not that hard, you switch between two charactors and the one in italics is the original girl (when you start to read it you will understand what I mean, don't want to ruin anything) but anyway yes I would suggest it, it's a brilliantly written book

If you read it on it's own without comparing it to Twilight, then yeah it's a pretty good book. I read it and liked it. It's kind of slow at the start but if you persevere then it gets interesting.

i read the twilight saga, and fell in love (TEAM EDWARD, B****ES), and also the host. it was super disappointing. if i were you, i would not waste my time. it takes too long to get going in the beginning, and then moves way too fast at the end. it's like she tries to cram in too much backstory at the start and too many events towards the finish.
