McDonalds drive thru????
Why is it that everytime you go through the drive thru at McDonalds they screw up your order? Do they find the dumbest person they can find to work the window? I don't get it, it's not rocket a science.

It isn't rocket science but people do make mistakes. They are only human. That is why you should check the order board under the speaker to make sure that the person got your order right. If you think that they made a mistake tell them when you get to the window to pay. If you still feel that they made a mistake then check the receipt. If they did make a mistake all you have to do is tell the manager. They will usually give you what you didn't get with your order for free and most of the time they will give you a coupon for free food too cuz they don't want to lose you as a customer. But, I do agree with you that it is annoying when they screw up your order and the trouble and inconvenience it causes when you have to try to get your order fixed especially when they are busy and you're hungry.

Well, to answer your question, not everyone can do back drive-thru. To give you an example...here it is...If it is busy, you are wearing a headset, that makes a ding sound in your ear that sounds like a doorbell when someone pulls up, you take their order, and while you are taking the order, the previous person has pulled up and is waiting to pay, so because you have to try to keep that drive-thru moving, you are making change, and also making corrections and adding on to their order because that is what most people do, while at the same time trying to push the buttons on taking your order, and it never fails, you decide to order a combo with no mayo, add cheese, and extra ketchup, and then you decide to make it large, after this, so it has to cleared and re-rung as a large meal with all this special stuff, and the person at the window wants to know if they can also order something after they have paid, so their new order has to be inserted...blah, blah,blah...So if you can take one order while adding on to another order, give out the right change, fix the order that you are taking, and insert another order, all at the same time...hey...you the man! So don't think it is as easy at it looks...or that just anyone can do it...

You have to very specific when ordering.
At the window where you get your food that person is only there to hand you the bag(s)
For many people it's a first job and probably nervous.
Besides sometimes it may work in your favor like a free Super Size when you only had enough to buy a cup of water
The one by my house. The manager every now and then does Free Promo's.
Imagine sharing a McDouble and the manager walks up to your table and puts a Small Fry and a Cup

And you have worked fast food, have you? Don't judge unless you've been there yourself. It's fast paced work, in usually hot and greasy conditions. It is easy to make a mistake. Also no one remembers times when they don't mess up an order, only when they do. Even though its not rocket science, id like to see you do it perfectly every order every day. ive had people who sound like you get hired at my store, thinking it was easy, and quitting a week later, not being able to "handle it". One guy was even sure he'd be made a manager in a month, he lasted a week lol.

Probably because anyone that has to take a job paying minimum wage to work in such a greasy environment isn't going to...well really care.
Anyone can learn the job which is why they get paid so little. I mean, if they would want they could give bigger raises or make the starting salary bigger so they could lower the turnover rate so people would really know what they're doing..it's not like they aren't making any money and couldn't afford it.

Well if you go there when everyone is going to work or coming home from work, you've got to imagine that someone is going to get a few orders wrong. My problem isn't with the orders its with giving change. It took this one girl around a minute to give me my change when what I bought cost $2.13 and I gave her a $5?

How about when there's lines of customers on the inside and cars lines up outside, you get ur stuff and the person behinds you stuff. nothing missing just extra stuff.
Then when its slow no customers inside, and you wind up with a bag of cold chicken-nuggets ,your hamburger and no pickles when you asked for extra!
not to mention the mcD's by you is across from a suage plant. Ya . I cant even spell that. Ew.

its like that here in Pittsburgh too. it is so annoying that you have to ask for ketchup, when they should automatically put some in your bag. And its not just the drive thru, if you go inside and get your order to go, they still dont give you any ketchup unless you ask. I think that they are just too cheap to give up their ketchup to their customers!

because they get paid minimum wage. Do you honestly expect them to care like its the end of the world if your hamburger "doesn't have relish on it" It is a lot harder then you think and is really stressful and try to remember that it is mostly teenagers working there, as there first job. So why dont you get over it, its f*u*cking mcdonalds douchebag.

Becuz customer service means nothing to people nowadays. They just hock a loogi in ya burger (knowing you ordered salad) throw it in the bag and send you on ur way. I agree wit u 100%
