Is this normal for a Rottweiler?
My Rottie has this habit since a puppy, he would always stick out his tounge and lick whatever or whoever is around him. For example, when if you scratch and pet him on the chest or belly but then suddenly stop, he gets up and licks you all over the face. It seemed cute when a puppy but now its messy and annoying.

Hi. This is relatively normal. It carries on from puppyhood. To stop this now simply ignore it and turn away and only offer attention if the licking stops. The dog will soon learn. You have a very intelligent dog. Strict but kind training is what works best for him.

There is nothing wrong with him. My pit rott mix does this alot. My rotty simon that I had when I was a kid and he used to do it. You should just be happy that he is friendly! If you really want him to stop, pull away and ignore him whenever he does it.

He just loves you, and wants to show it! If it really bugs you though, ignore him and don't show him love back when he does it.
Hope this helps!

I don't know..but if you thought it was cute and was petting him while he did that, it's why the behavior has continued.
