Carp Fishing Tips???

While I don't advise you catch a Carp to eat, Carp are a very fun fish to catch. They put up a great fight once hooked. I took my daughter Carp fishing today for the first time actually & I used the below bait. within 20 minutes, she hooked a Carp that from nose to tail, went mid-thigh to me & I'm 6'4. Took her 20 minutes to pull it in.

1) Advise you have a pole with at least 10lb test line. Stronger if you are not the best at fishing or know there are massive Carp where you are fishing.

2) There are hundreds of different bait recipes to choose from. I advise you to simply use Sweet Corn ( From a can is just fine ) & Bread. A sweeter bread like Raisin bread works excellent. Add 6 kernels of corn & then press on a 1/2 to 1" ball of bread onto the hook & gently cast. To make it easier to spot a strike, add a bobber 2 to 3 feet above the bait depending on the depth of the river/pond/lake.

3) Carp have an excellent sense of smell. Fish an area for at least an hour, to allow the scent of your bait to permeate the water.
