I just bought a house a week ago. Im eligible for the $8,000 stimulus check. What do I have to do to get it?

Everything is pretty much in the title. I've heard I could get it before my taxes next year. I could definitely use it. Any help is appreciated.

    You fill out a paper to amend your 2008 taxes and you will receive a check in 8-12 weeks.

    For a first time buyer, it's not called a stimulus check and there is no check involved. It's a one time only tax credit. You have to probably fill out an extra form at tax time and prove you qualify for the credit.

    I qualified for last years stimulus check. You indicate it when you do your taxes and get it as a tax refund. Not sure if you can get it before then. Maybe if you file quarterly taxes.
