Front suspension is torsion bars. They can settle over time and let the control arms ride aginst the rebound bumpers, sort of solid suspension. Find a quality, reputable front end shop and have them check it over. The front end height is adjustable and the front end shop can get them adjusted back to proper height. You will then need a front end alignment.

you have a 1974 vehicle. It is in no way shape or form a suspension that is going to feel and drive comfortable as a car from today.
If there is a problem, it would be a bushing issue. Otherwise, try shocks or springs that are softer.

Look at your springs, all shocks are is a anti osolation device. What shocks are you using
