can anyone tell me a good (free) anti virus to run?

got a bug in my puter can anyone tell me a good and safe anti virus program to runn on my laptop

Update:

i had a free one one time and was great i know theres some free ones can anyone help me ?

    I use AVG, but there a ton of other free ones there. Avast usually gets good marks too. The link will take you to cnet, and shows a list of free ones, and ratings for them.

    Last year switched to Avira from AVG, avira ist a german av have worked really well, i recommend it prior to AVG, having used both, good luck
