I didn't quite understand.. Why did Dumbledore want Harry to know about his Peverell ancestors & the Hallows?

Well, I'm not quite sure. But I thought it was JK Rowlings way of telling us Harry's related to Voldemort, or boring us. Either one works.
PS-Voldemort is related to Harry because they both decended from two Peverell brothers.

From what I remember....He wanted Harry to know of the Hallows because he needed them all. As it was, I'm pretty sure Malfoy OR Voldemort had the powerful wand....Harry had the stone but it was destroyed ....and had the invisibility cloak and I don't remember what happened with it.
The Hallows all tied back to defeating Voldemort.
They all had to be destroyed.
