why is carl crawford going to replace dustin in the all-star game?

It should have been Cano. Period. Pena? a .230's hitting All-Star? The guy is another Rob Deer, it is ridiculous. Some people will say Kinsler, but his BA is putrid. Working against Cano are 2 factors 1: Yankee hate(I hate the Yankees, but that is because most of my Yankee fan friends are ignorant asses), and he is overshadowed by his own teammates and 2: How wildly inconsistent the guy can be. Have you seen his career breakdowns? Except for 06 were he raked all year he tends to have terrible starts and then catch fire bringing his average WAY up. I like Cano, and wish he played for my Whitesox, but the average baseball fan knows very little about Baseball beyond there own team, and is filled with hatred of the Yanks based off winning. Mine is based off dumb *** Yankee fans, most of which know very little about the game. Personally I think the organization is great for NY, but half the fans are morons. Ignorance annoys the sh!t out of me.

I don't know why Carlos Pena is the replacement, but if I had to guess, my guess would be some kind of conspiarcy theory involving Joe Maddon trying to make All-Stars out of as many of his Rays as he can.

I'm not going to argue against Robinson Cano being a better replacement than Pena, but there's no way Cano is a better replacement than Ian Kinsler.

AL All-star team doesn't need another second baseman, they already have utility Zobrist. And also Maddon chose Pena because he felt he deserved to be pick and Pena is on the Rays. Also Pena could be a useful pitch hitter in tight situations.

Crawford isn't replacing Dustin, Pena is.

Dustin is getting replaced because his wife is having a baby and he does not feel comfortable with leaving her behind.

Pena is...and I think they already have enough 1B's as it is, if they took a 1B, they should have taken Miguel Cabrera, amazing year this year for him. They should have taken a 2B though, since Perdoia was at 2B, in which case they should have taken Kinsler or Hill. And Maddon chose Pena, so that's why he's in...
