I have downloaded java , eclipse and the android sdk but what am i doing wrong as when i followed this link i didnt have android as he has i had something else there or is there something else i need to download thanks.

well a good place to start would be http://www.helloandroid.com/ you also need a linux based system like fedora/unbutu etc.
its not windows based.
