You need to hire an attorney to figure out what's going on, and perhaps to make a "special appearance" on your behalf, perhaps to obtain a "continuance" or even a dismissal. If there are criminal charges against you in another country (or state), they will last forever if you do not return or take care of them. The running of the statute of limitations is suspended while you're outside the jurisdiction.

There's usually a bench warrent sworn out for your arrest. If you're a US citizen and there's a bench warrent, chances are when entering customs you will be arrested and ask to surrender your passport.
