Sympathy ettiquette for boyfriend's family?
My boyfriend's grandmother (mom's mom) passed away and I've only met his parents once. Should I send something like a small bouquet? What should the card say?

I'm not sure if the God needing her more remark is appropriate when people are grieving and feeling alone. Sending a bouquet is a nice idea. It would be nice if you can ask your boyfriend what her favorite flowers were but if you don't know, send a bouquet anyways. Write something simple in the card. You didn't really know her but just say "I'm so sorry for your loss." Sending food might send a message that you want to help in small ways if possible.

Send a handwritten note of sympathy and condolence along these lines "I am so very sorry for your loss, you have my greatest sympathy in this hard time. Sincerely, Caitlin Smith"
Ask your boyfriend if you can help the family out, bring over food after the services and attend the wake and funeral. This is standard practice for friends, and if you're dating somebody's son, this would be appropriate.
