How to get rid of chipmunks...?
How do you get chipmunks out of your garden? Is there something you can put in with the flowers that will repel them?

To keep you and your garden safe, avoid using harmful chemicals and pesticides. My uncle's a landscape architect and just designed an 80 ft. garden in my (dad's) yard. He suggests that we use coyote urine and sprays that repel wild animals. There should be a huge selection of safe products at your local hardware store or nursery. It shouldn't be a hassle.

It was more likely mice getting into your vehicle, but regardless, the best solution is to get a cat. Try your local animal shelter and look for an adult female. Female cats are generally better hunters. Trapping chipmunks one at a time won't work unless they are in your house. They can breed faster than you can trap them. If you know where they are getting in to the vehicle, try blocking the hole. chipmunks aren't generally destructive, I've heard they prefer singing. There are several deterrents you can try depending on where you want to keep them out of. One that is pretty effective is mothballs. a few of these in any small space will deter anything that breathes. Needless to say, you don't want to use these in any space (like the inside of a car) that you're going to occupy.

meatballs and cherries often repel chipmunks. but i highly recommend you invest in getting a california vulture to patrol the garden and devour the little animals all the way down to their very souls.
