Which dog is known to have a badder reputation?

Both Doberman Pinschers and German Shepherds can be great family and loyal to their humans. Especially with experienced dog owners. I was wondering, which breed has a badder reputation for biting, aggression, and attacks on people/children? I'm not saying that they are bad breeds just want to know because I'm curious. I will appreciate any informative answer!

Update:

I already know pitbulls have a bad rep, i am not being mean but thats not really answering my question. Some stories about them might be helpful like why they got a bad reputation. Thanks!

Actually based on the CDC ( Center for Disease Control ) the German Shepherd is responsible for more bite incidents. However the Pit bull or Pit Bull type by far out rates any other breed. That is solely based on reported numbers. The Germans Shepherd is in the top 5 on that list. I would also have to say you must consider the number dogs as well. There are more Germans Shepherds in households than Dobermans. That can account for the drastic number of bite incidents as well.

My grandparents bred Dobermans for generation and my father has bred German Shepherds for generations. So I am very familiar with both breeds and like you stated they can be great family dogs, and I would recommend both breeds for the right family.

All too often a dog bites because they are not handled correctly or their needs are not met. Most children are bit because they are left alone unsupervised with a dog, which should never be the case.

German Shepherds also have a stronger bite force and a stronger prey drive than the Dobbie.

No breed of dog is dangerous, Just like a gun they are only dangerous in the wrong hands.

Doberman Pinschers might be more likely to attack when threatened, but they are smaller, so it would be less of a problem when and if they do attack someone. Both are really easily trainable, so it shouldn't be a problem, plus it depends on the individual dog.

Also consider the size of the dog and the shedding. Many apartments will not allow big dogs. Even if you have a house now, it eliminates that option in the future if you move and need to rent a house or apartment. Doberman Pinschers have hair that is so short, it's almost like they don't shed at all, but German Shepherds will get hair everywhere when they shed.

Both dogs were bred for security and guarding purposes. Any dog will bite if it is put in that situation. either dog is an excellent pet, however German Shep's have a lot less health problems by bread.

The most common are pitbulls. But it's just how they're raised. Most likely, the pitbulls were raised in a harsh environment and were raised for fighting. But don't think they're bad all together.

I believe a pit bull has a bad rep. Nothing is wrong with them. They ban them in some parts of the world.

Ever heard of BSL. It's a bullshit law.

No dog breed is bad, it's the owners who mistreat them and make them wild purposely.

Dobermans are used as guard dogs far more frequently than GSDs are. In my opinion, dobbies with docked ears look just plain evil... but as you said, they can be great dogs, along with GSDs.

german sheperds have the highest bite rate evn over the pitbull

Over the line dobes don't get their ears docked....

And I own both, I would say more people are afraid of the dobes then the Shepherd. But I dunno it just a personal preference I think. GSD's are used as Police dogs more then Dobes. But still.
