Financial aid general questions...please read?

Ok I was awarded fed stafford loans, they are sub and unsub.

I got about 5000 for the sub one and 900 for the unsub.

Which is the best one to take in the long run?

And would you accept loans?

Update:

How long did it take you to pay off your loans? And which did you accept?

If you need them for school, take them.

They are the best form of loan, and Obama will be fixing them to be even better soon.

Almost every student takes them. Private loans will massacre you, and these ones are kinda like the "good loans" even though loans do suck.

I took mine. And it was a good idea. Better than private loan in the long run. Easier to pay off, too. :)

If you need to accept both, then do it. But the major difference between the two is that the government will pay your interest for your Subsidized Stafford Loan as long as you stay enrolled in school. You have to pay your own interest for the Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.

So if you magically don't need that 900 dollars (did you calculate in travel, personal, laptop/computer/printer, book and other expenses?), then take the Sub.
