    • I think Sony and Samsung are both best companies and in LCD TV section they stand together with each other. However Sony is known for quality and simply if you check the quality of picture in Sony is far better than any other TV.

In Samsung there is a slightly a difference in quality and generally you will not recognise it. At last you are getting Samsung 6000 cheaper. Its totally up to you which you choose there is just a bit difference in quality of picture but other things are cool about these brands.

Honestly I'll choose Samsung all the way without hesitating.

Sony is a brand that has lost a lot of reputation with me because even they have a good line of products their customer service and cost of repairs are ridiculously expensive, besides that I can also say some Sony producs are not as good as some others and usually overpriced.

I Have a 2 year old Samsung 50" Plasma which looks really amazing and never had a single problem with it, my dad got a 46" LCD with the 120hz which is really amazing, check for yourself all the good things Samsung has and you'll never look back to Sony.

The best quality of a Samsung is the Brilliant and sharp image unmatchable, if you can buy a Samsung LED go for it, they look incredible.

Most experts agree that in the flatscreen market, Samsung is better although Sony is close. Do consider LED over LCD if you have not already as LED is considered superior to LCD.

Source(s): Just spent over an hour quizzing a flat screen TV expert on best brands and models on the market, and they recommended Samsung. My daughter has been selling flat screens for 2 years and she too agrees that Samsung is the best.

As far as the performance is concerned, there is no such big difference between Samsung & Sony. Since you are getting more features and price is also lower, it will be wiser to go for Samsung.

Personally i would go for the Samsung as it uses the newer technology of LED back lighting (instead of fluorescent lighting).

Fluorescent lighting as you can probably guess consists of fluorescent tubes back lighting the LCD display.

LED light uses Light Emitting Diodes to light the LCD screen. This can be done by placing an array of LEDs perpendicular to the the display or by placing them around the perimeter and then diffusing the light evenly with a light diffusing backing.

The later allows for less power consumption, thinner screen thickness, greater contrast vs the fluorescent lighting. And overall generally a clearer image.
