Why in the world would the Cleveland Cavaliers prefer Sideshow Bob over Lamar Odom?

It's no secret Odom isn't happy about taking a paycut and wants a long term deal. Cleveland could have been the perfect place for him since they have the money after Anderson Varejao opted out and Odom will be happy being on a contender and also making some $$$. I thought the Cavs would be dying to have a guy like Odom because how well he matches up with Lewis/Sheed/K.G and it would also give them 2 great passing bigs in the post. Getting Odom also weakens the Lakers and decrease chances Kobe will win another ring, which we all know gets a good kick out of LeBron fans. All Cleveland had to do is offer Odom a 9mil/year long term contract (not that much to Varejo's deal), which the Lakers aren't offering because Kobe only want a 3 years extension so they only want to committee to Odom as long as Kobe is there.

I don't think Blazers want Odom because it will effect Aldridge's playing time and there is no point paying a 10mil guy to just play 10-15 minutes a game.

BQ: Why doesn't anyone want A.I? They can use him as a bench player that will give instant offense like J.R Smith, I am surprised only a few teams want him.

BQ2: Buy/Sell: LAL vs BOS in 2010 finals

STAR if you think Odom will stay in L.A!

Look even if we got rid of varejao all we would have left to use is MLE and BAE,hell thts all we had to use this offsesaon to sign players and the MLE is definately not enough to get Odom.Guys like Odom, hedo, etc in this offseason are guys we cant afford to get.

BQ:I have to agree with u. Still good teams dont want to risk ruining their chemistry while weak teams care too much about money

I think all other GMs know Lamar Odom has expressed a preference to remain in Los Angeles, so why waste time and cost yourself an opportunity to sign another FA. If reports are true that Lakers have offered $27.2M over three years, it appears a settlemen is only a matter of time. Odom has spent his entire career in warm weather; therefore the Portlands, Dallases, and Clevelands knew LO wasn't giving up if the offers were close.

BQ: Despite adding Blake Griffin, Clippers are looking to be relevant in a city that loves star power; therefore their willing to risk locker room issues by signing Iverson.

BQ2: Buying Lakers vs Celtics in 2010 NBA Finals. It's going to be either hilarious or tragically sad come next June. Boston, Cleveland, Orlando. One of these three won't even be in the conference finals. Two will be watching the Finals on TV. There's a good chance none will be holding the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the end.

Anderson Varajeo has, no doubt, the best communication and friendship with LeBron James. Without Varajeo, it will make a big step for LeBron James towards New York. The reason they didn't want Lamar Odom, is that you can't forget, you know how Lamar is. And his style of play is so good, so used to the Triangle Offense, it would fall and crash with Mike Brown and LeBron James. You can't have two playmaking Small Forwards on the same team, it would mess everything up. Lamar Odom is basically just like LeBron James but without the athlethisism.

BQ: I'd be happy with Orlando signing him... The teams don't want him because of the money, he is aging (although with talent), and nobody that can afford him actually needs him.

BQ2: Whichever one means that I do NOT think that will happen. I think either LAL vs. ORL or DEN vs. ORL.

Maybe LeBron wants Anderson there to mimic his every antics. Watched the video where Kobe said nobody's dunking on his camp? Hilarious.

BQ: Teams are afraid of taking him because he's a volume shooter with minimal results. Allen, after his poor stint in Detroit wants to retaliate and re-assume his superstar role, which means more shots. The presumable takers the Grizzlies and the Clippers want to take him because he's an attraction. Not because of his talents but because of the tickets sells he would generate definitely a great disappointment for once a prominent star of the league.

BQ2: Anything is plausible at the moment. Lakers could be IT in the west, but in the east it's a lot tougher. If the Lakers come to the east? I don't know where to rank them. Sell.

    Hope this helps.

Man the Cavs just missed out on a big man. A very versatile big man that could of been a lot of help in the post and against other PF's. Well their lose and LA's gain.

BQ: A.I is past his prime. There are new uprising PG's coming into the league and everyone wants to grab one. And you have to put into consideration that A.I hasn't lead a team to the title in his 15 years pro. He's was an elite player and couldn't do it. But then again he could be a back up....... Oh well. A.I should retire soon. He should of just stuck with Phili.

BQ2: Hell nah. Mavs vs Cavs

not sure why Cleveland passed on Odom, you make a good point

A.I is a cancer and a human time bomb... until he is willing to come off the bench and take a lesser role, no team in their right mind would want him, except to sell tickets (Clippers, Grizzlies)

i could see LAL vs BOS again, but i don't want to

in the end Odom will most likely stay in LA, unless Portland makes an offer once Utah matches for Millsap... Odom could start at SF for them

  • I have no idea. I was surprised that they didn't pursue Odom as well. I'm guessing that since Ariza didn't go to the Cavs, they figured Odom was a long shot.

BQ: Because he wants to start and there's room for him on the bench only.

    BQ2: Buy

Clev couldnt sign Odom, they were over the cap and used thier bird rights to resign Side show Bob, I am sure they would have rather paid LO. Thats the same reason LA can offer LO more than anyone

Lamar is playing the way that we all knew he could play so theirs no suprise. I disagree that the Celtics will make it to the Finals. The Cavs only lost by 5 points last year and now they have Mo Williams.

BQ- He doesn't want to come off the bench

    BQ2- I agree
