For anyone who knows the Boston Area, Where would you stay on a visit?

I've booked a hotel near the airport for the night of our arrival, but we plan to book a hotel for 2 or 3 nights before we fly out.

We will have a car and have looked at places from Hull/Nantasket Beach to Revere becasue we would like to show the kids the ocean as well as visit downtown.

Looking for a hotel, but any other advice welcomed too

I would stay in the city and take a day trip to one of the beaches.

Most hotels are in Back bay or downtown. Don't stay to close to the airport unless you want to listen to planes all night

As for beaches, I normally go to Horseneck Beach in Westport (on Buzzard's bay) , it's a little over an hour outside the city. But it's a nice beach and the water there is warmer than in other beaches further north. You also have the added bonus of avoiding traffic heading to and from the Cape.

You might want to also consider getting a hotel right on Boston Harbor, there is also a ferry that takes you to the Harbor Islands. Spectacle Island has a beach.

I would say your best bet is in Dedham, MA. About 8 miles from downtown Boston and the hotels should be about $100/night. There is an MBTA commuter rail station closeby and can have you into Boston in 20 minutes.

  • Spring hill suites in peabody is where i stay when i visit boston, mass....they have a mini fridge in the room, microwave, utensils, free internet in the room, bigger than a actual standard hotel room with a couch that can be a sofa bed, indoor pool with whirlpool hot tub, fitness room and a free hot full contential breakfast buffet

Ah, lucky you, the Atlantic! I advise lobster, lots and lots of lobster, with some butter of course.

Those dark green waters, the smell of it, towns as old as our language on these shores, enjoy.
