Has anyone ever had Synvisc shots in either knee?

I am scheduled to start , but only if my insurance pays for it. Does it hurt when they give you the shot? I have had bad knees for over 8 years. A debridement was done 7 years ago and helped but the pain is back. Any help you could give me would be appreciated!

I had the shots in both knees about three years ago, about a year before I had total knee replacement on my left knee. I thought the shorts were quite painful, but then I'm a bit of a wimp. The relief only lasted a couple of months--if that long. My sister had the shots also, and I believe she her relief lasted a bit longer. From what I remember, the copay/coinsurance was quite expensive. So for the pain of the injection, the cost to me, it was not really worth it for the amount of time I got relief. My doctor offered it again for my right knee to help me until I get surgery--but I decided against having them again.
