Condom broke, taking Yaz, no period?
Last week my boyfriend and I were having sex. We thought everything was fine but discovered the condom broke after it was all over. Now, we weren't too worried because I am on Yaz birth control and only had a week left of pink pills. This is my second month taking Yaz. The first month, I started my period the same night that I took my first white pill. Well, tonight is that night for this month and I have yet to start. I realize it's still a little early to tell but I am worried. I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for about 5 months before I stopped taking any type of pill for the entire month of May. I took my first pack of Yaz in June and the second this month. I am just worried that I may be pregnant since I haven't gotten my period yet, but I am very good with taking the pill at the same time. I haven't missed a single pill except for the beginning of this month's pack I missed the very first day due to an issue with the pharmacy getting me my pack on time. (But the Yaz insert says missing a pink pill in Week 1 is nothing to worry about) Do I have anything to worry about, or is it normal for periods on Yaz to be a tad irregular? HELP!
***I didn't want to take the morning after pill because 1) where I live you have to be 18, which I am not; 2) it's expensive and at the time my boyfriend and I were both out of cash; and 3) I've heard that taking Plan B while on the pill can have really bad side effects because of all the hormones. I figured it wasn't worth it. Plus, why would I be on the pill anyway if I didn't trust that it would work as my backup, in a situation like this?

OK trust me ive had so many scares, ive talked to my OBGYN about everything you could possibly think of. Heres what ive learned.
If you take your pills every day at the same time, and dont miss any or take any medications to interfere with it (like antibiotics), then you wont get pregnant. The nurse i talked to during my scare said that she has never in 20 years of her experience seen a girl who is taking birth control every day get pregnant. (and obviously if the pamphlet said dont worry about missing the first pill, youre good there).
The fact that its not here yet, could be that youre worried, and that CAN delay it. Trust me. Also, the fact that its only your second month on it, it will take your body a little while to get used to it.
I skipped mine completely and freaked out and went straight to my OBGYN. He said i was crazy for worrying so much, (but in nicer terms :) and that there are so many things BC does to make you NOT get pregnant that it works. He said sometimes it works so well, you dont have one! And then he said "isnt that great?" i replied with a "uh no it scares me."
But just relax and dont worry. If you want to put your mind at ease take a home pregnancy test, but youre ok.
Youre right, you def. DO NOT need plan B, it can make you sick. But youre just fine i promise.

I have heard of YAZ causing irregularities but like the answer above your body is still getting used to the change in hormones but I would be alert I have more then one friend get pregnant on the pill.Continue to take them daily and at the same time. Good luck!

I would wait to take the test for about another week. Reason why is because Plan B has been shown to throw off your cycle for a week or two. It is a lot of hormones that you are putting in your system along with the fact you are on the pill. I wouldn't overreact just yet, but take it next week. Good luck.

Your body is still adjusting to the new dosage of hormones in your system. It might come in a few days but if it doesn't I wouldn't worry about it. If you miss next month's period too, take a pregnancy test.

i don't know i think you should get it checked but if i were you the morning after you had sex you should have taken the " morning after pill " its like a last resort a back up they told us in school that this should not be our only way of protecting but a just in case kind of thing

No worries no worries, my doc says that the pills start to work the second week, but take a preg. test to be 99.8% sure.
