my dog got her pics taken at a studio. can i enter it in a photo contest?

It depends on what type of contest it is, and who took the photos. You'd have to check with whoever is running the contest, just to be safe. If it's a smaller contest that's not run or sponsored by a big company it should be fine. You might also want to check with whoever took the pictures too, just to be safe. It would sure suck to be sued over something like that!!

Ask the photographer for the copyright rights. He can give you the pictures.

Only the photographer can do that, as he holds the copyright.
