Muslim's do you think that this is possible?

As Salaam my Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

Now is the time to unite like you have never done so before in YA, and let us take over the Ramadan section as it should be, in peace and harmony, for is it not supposed to be about Islam?

“And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah and be not divided; and remember the favour of Allah which He bestowed upon you when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you became as brothers; and you were on the brink of a pit of fire and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah explain to you His commandments that you may be guided. (Glorious Qur'an, Surah 3, Ayah 103)

This forum should be used to exchange views and to discus the spiritual and religious doubts of our faith and to promote world peace inside and outside of our faith.

Yet, we must have rules, which we as members of this Unity set for ourselves, therefore I propose that all are welcome to contribute be they Muslim or not, as long as total respect is a two way part of this unity. That the language used will be plain and simple for all to understand, without swearing or calling each other derogatory names. Those who answer and contribute in any way but abuse this rule should be blocked from further contributing by us all.

Interfaith dialogue is acceptable and indeed encouraged as long as the intention is not to persuade someone to change their faith but to answer or raise questions about the knowledge of that faith.

Islam is a Religion of Peace and total submission to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) and we want peace not questions just to stir up or create trouble. Sometimes there is a genuine need over curiosity or to resolve misunderstandings but as long as it’s a healthy discussion nobody should really mind.

The Prophet (Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) has been reported as saying: "Reconciliation of your differences is more worthy than all prayers and all fasting." If we couple this with the Glorious Qur’an Surah 49, Ayah 10, “Surely all believers are brothers. So make peace between brothers, and fear Allah that mercy may be shown to you”. [We include all Sisters in this as well] Then Islam if discussed in the right light is always good for the Ummah and even the entire world.

We are not perfect, just Muslim’s trying to be better Muslim’s, tied to the Rope of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) and maybe through our differences we may shed a small light that Unity is possible but at least we have tried, Insha’Allah.

Do you think that this is possible, or is this just an old man’s wish that will go nowhere?

Wa Salaam

Mahmood

Update:

As Salaam to you all,

No one said that this would be simple within a domain open up to the world and yes we will get ridicule from some quarter or other but that is the strength of our belief. If we consider ourselves to be alone we will never have any form of Unity. It is up to each of us to strive forward learning our faith and talking with others is a form of learning. Do not be negative, for to have these thoughts is to give in to Shaytan. If it is the Will of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) then we will succeed, Insha'Allah.

May I ask all of you to make each other a contact on your lists and try to draw others into joining us. Remember we are but Muslim's striving to be better Muslim's opening up to all Brothers and Sisters all over the world. We certainly do not wish to keep this, so to speak, in our own back garden.

The idea of our own website similar to Yahoo would be fine but we do not have the finance to do so, so this is but a simple step, the first step, Insha'Allah.

Update 2:

As Salaam to you all,

Indeed the 'Rope of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala)' is the 'Glorious Qur'an', His words which we should follow as Muslims.

Update 3:

As Salaam to you all,

No Muslim is a Kafir if they have belief in Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala), His Glorious Qur'an, His Messenger the Prophet Mohammed (Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) and this is our starting point for Unity, so does anyone disagree with this?

There will be no slanging off between old secular ideology for we are but Muslim's who follow a path towards Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala), even for those who may think that they follow false prophets or false ideology. This a group of Unity not to drive further wedges between ourselves, Insha'Allah.

Has anyone noticed, out of 20 answers only 2 from Trolls. Now watch them join the fray or maybe Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) will keep them away.

Wa Salaam

Update 4:

As Salaam to all of you,

One Troll has gone, so Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) must be with us Insha'Allah.

Wa Salaam

I can't help but smiling when I read your post here. Masya Allah, such a wisdom that this old man has.

    Insya Allah, it is possible.

Brothers and Sisters, let us work together for this dream to be true.

I say we block and report all the answers and questions that clearly provoking, shows emnity and hatred. Don't even bother to answer the trolls' questions. Just report them.

" When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, TURN AWAY FROM THEM unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, SIT NOT THOU in the company of those who do wrong."

Assalam Alaikum. Yes, MashAllah you said a correct thing. Every Muslim should be united and have no hatred for each other. I belive that if all Muslims unite and are with each other, we can together create peace and a nice atmosphere. There are problems around the world and people are against islam, only because Muslims have no unity. I hope InshAllah all Muslims will understand this, and become united.

    I am definitely with you.

    Assalamualaikum

MashaAllah my dear brother, you have such virtue and that is so Noble of you. Dear brother, I am for Unity amongst all people (whether they Muslim or non-Muslim, whether they Shia or Sunni), friends can agree to disagree.

Specifically a problem I notice here is the Sunni-Shia fighting, below I offer my humble advice for the fighting and hatred to stop:

Very bad this disunity and fitnah in the Ummah, it must stop.

LETS ALL BE ONE AGAIN" We are all Muslim brothers and sisters, we are one Ummah.

Now I do realise unfortunately that a strong and terrifying division exists between our Sunni Muslim brothers and our Shia Muslim brothers. This division is so awful that sadly we see some amongst them killing each other, showing tremendous hatred and disrespect to each other and further continuing the unwelcome disunity in our Ummah. What really hurts me is that some Muslims feel they have absolute authority on declaring other Muslims as kuffaar, this is wrong as I have always felt that as long as a person meets the primary criteria as laid out in our Glorious Quran for being a Muslim, that person is a Muslim. The primary criteria or beliefs being that they affirm that there is no God but Allah, that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the final messenger of Allah and that our Glorious Quran is the final revelation of Allah and that what it says is the truth than that person whether Shia, Sunni, Sufi is a Muslim, this person has met the primary criteria and as such is our Muslim brother, however this person will have secondary views and these views will often differ amongst the various "sects"in Islam and sometimes these secondary views might be very unpleasant and disconcerting which Allah ultimately has the right to judge the seriousness of this view, in a case like this we could say this person might be committing a sin, how major a sin this is, is for Allah to ultimately judge but certainly as long as this person still has his primary belief structure intact, he is still within the fold of Islam, yes he might be committing a major sin but I have never seen anybody thrown out of the fold of Islam for committing a major sin unless that sin is shirk or is against the primary criteria for being a Muslim, so as such, such a person is still a Muslim though he may be committing a major sin upon which Allah has the right to determine the level of punishment such a person deserves and don't forget that Allah's doors of mercy and forgiveness are always open to us Muslims whether we be Sunni, Shia, Sufi etc which leads me to my next point that as Muslims we should all engage in a sincere effort to help one another in resolving these deviances so as to sincerely refrain from committing sin as a result of what could be a serious wrong view due to these deviances. I feel that in the interest of seeking truth and reconciliation, there should be a determined effort to promote many dialogues, discussion and research between both Sunni and Shia scholars and any other Muslim (primary criteria - so no Qadianis, Aga Khan Ismailis etc) groups scholars. These discussions should be such that the differing viewpoints should be honestly presented, there should be a critical, sincere and honest analysis of the sources and narrations that provide the basis for such differing views, the historical authenticity of these sources should also be verified and ultimately the aim of such symposia and gatherings should be to bring about reconciliation in the Ummah through honest and sincere analysis of what's causing the split. Obviously this might not bring about total reconciliation and many might still subscribe to their original secondary views but at least now a sincere and truthful effort has been made to iron out the differences and at least the hatred should be encouraged to stop. After all British and Germans still strongly disagree over World War 2 but do you see them at each others throats, instead you see them ideologically recognising and embracing one another despite their strong historical differences. The streets of Berlin and London are peaceful unlike the streets of Baghdad (though that is also due to the US invasion but the sectarian violence was uncalled for). Allah the Exalted, the Wise tells us all in our Glorious Quran to hold on fast to His rope and stay united and that ultimately He is the judge and He will show us where we have gone wrong on the Day of Qiyammah and as I would understand it Him showing us where we may have deviated is not Him discarding or rejecting us and our sincere, honest effort for true belief

May Allah bless you my dear brother and may Allah provide us with guidance

    Salaam

We can all give it a try, the first step is easy as one user pointed out, to unite against the trolls. What worries me is that the classical schools (read: those who favor the "settled" view point) will be more than happy to go along with your suggestion as it helps them keep the status quo going. Our aim of purifying and purging Islam needs a bit of rocking the boat, we could react less to the never ending personal attacks of the Bukhari Alone Muslims ( I am sorry but there is no other way to describe them), never the less I personally am willing to give it a try.

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

"Watawa sow bil haqqi watawa sow bis sabr" - counsel one another to the truth and endurance.

Time must fully be utilised for the purpose of perfecting mind, acquiring knowledge and developing wisdom to use them.

The knowledgeable, educated, perfected intellect has almost the beauty and harmony of heavenly contemplation... realising that such an intellect serves Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, society and one's self.

Wassalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

    Excellent post.

If we unite, we will become stronger. As Muslims, it is our duty to love our brothers and sisters in Islam.

Muslim or not, let's learn to treat each other with respect, and let's not entertain those who cannot muster the respect and maturity. Let them take the low road, while we take the high road. When those who come here only to attack or hate are ignored, they leave.

To those who say it is impossible, you are mistaken.

It is possible, and it will happen.

In their love, kindness and compassion for each other, the believers are like a human body: when one part of it is hurt, the rests sympathizes with it in wakefulness and fever

    (Bukhari, Muslim).

We must learn the Adab (etiquette) of criticism, whether it is towards individual Muslims or our leaders. This horrible phenomena of calling fellow believers Kafirs must end if we want to create a climate that is conducive to unity. Let us heed the advice found in Surah Hujurat. This 49th chapter of the Quran provides excellent guidance on the kind of behavior that Muslims should avoid to establish Muslim unity. For instance, Allah, advises us to avoid mockery, defamation and suspicion. These are all things which serve to divide us and create hatred, hurt and dissension. Finally, make sure that you as an individual are not only working for unity but making Dua for it as well, since results are all in Allah's Hands.

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Believers are brethren, their lives are equal to each other and they are as one hand against their enemy."

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "It is not permissible for two Muslims to be annoyed and angry for more that three days."

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "When Muslims are angry with each other for three days. If they do not compromise then they go away from the limits of Islam and the one who compromise first will enter Jannah (Paradise) earlier."

You are posting comments and statements in the public domain, accessible to the entire world. It is impossible and unreasonable to expect the entire world to respect that. The vast majority of people find such piety ludicrous and thus come to this section for amusement. If you want to achieve your ideal you will need to create a website of your own that requires members to prove they are muslims before they can enter the site. Until then you will simply have to deal with the mockery.

NB: there is nothing of benefit to the entire world in religion. One's relationship with their god should be a private matter and not something that is discussed in public.
