How can I find out if parts of my composition are copied from another song?
I have composed a few songs, but some melodies I've written sound oddly familiar to new or old songs. I want to make sure all my ideas are original. Is there a way to check this somewhere?

With all the music around today, it's easily possible that what you've composed has been somewhat used before. For example, There is a song by Aqualung called "Left Behind". Many people think it sounds like "Clocks", a popular single by Coldplay. But nothing's wrong with that, unless it's blatant plagiarism, which I doubt you've done. If you're still worried, ask around and see what people think it sounds like.
