Why are girls so obsessed with taking self-portraits ?

I don't take self-portraits.

However, the answer is because then girls can take 100000 pictures in poses they think are cute with the best lighting they can find, then they get to go through and delete the ones they think are unflattering and keep only what they consider wonderful, then they can post them online and be like, "I KNOW THIS IS A BAD PIC, BUT AM I PRETTY?!?!?!"

I only take pictures of myself once in a while. But I don't ever get someone to take my picture because I dont like full body pictures. But i'm not obsessed with myself or anything, I only have 2 pictures of my self on myspace. But I know what you mean I know a few girls who have hundreds like that.

The mood I get is "I hope this looks better on Facebook than the distorted arm's length picture I used as my profile last week." You are going to get much better results (and potentially more useful feedback) if you concentrate just on photography or just modeling, at least at a given time. What I'm trying to say is that it's not good to try to do both at the same time.

some girls like taking pictures of themself because they are self absorbed, others do it because they like they way they look at the moment, or they think how they are would be a cute picture, also for myspace and facebook profile pictures or display pictures on instant messaging. If they taking them with friends, its for memories.

Well, I myself used to do that alot when I was in 6th grade, but I noticed (when I got into 9th grade) that I look better in the picutres of me when I'm having fun with friends, so now I mostly put up pics of me and my friends, not pictures with fake expressions.

The pictures taken during moments when you are having real fun are the best pictures since their not faked. =)

Because it's an online thing and digital cameras mean that you can take 150 photos of yourself and one is sure to turn out right. Dont sweat it brother.

Because they think they look so hot and good doing it when all they look is stupid and dont you notice tat when they do those stupid lip moves and really high shot angls of just there head with tthere touge out of something or in black in white they look ok but when they take a normal picture with color they look diff and uglyer

well maybe just the ones you see. Some girls get bored easily like me. and other girls are just drowning in there fake personality
