Who changed the call letters for SciFi to SyFy?

What idiot decided this was a good choice? SciFi is short for Science Fiction. SyFy means absolutely nothing and is annoying. They need to change it back.

I am with you on this one.The powers to be at SCi FI didnt want their channel to be mixed up with the Science Channel and also they want to move away from science fiction stuff at times. So some idiot thought up this name.I wish they would change back too but unfortunately they have spent alot on changing the Logo so its problably going to stay SY FY .

Like the others I don't know either, but I think that they should have stuck with scifi. I was like, seriously?

I think that anyone who watches "syfy" agrees that the name change is ridiculous and unnecessary.

Yeah, my mother-in-law has been ranting about it for two weeks. Seriously. She says it sounds like ' Siff-eee'. Not Sci-Fi. You guys could be friends.
