Have you ever noticed how a death in the family brings out the worst in people?

My mother passed away yesterday and I have seen the worst side of people. The callousness of several individuals leaves me flummoxed.

I'm so sorry you lost your Mom. Yes the absolute worst and I'm sorry to tell you it's just the beginning. Some people truly are clueless as to how to approach you or what to say or do and they can so easily come off as offensive when they are just, I don't know, so uncomfortable or ignorant even what they attempt as a kind word becomes anything but. Then there are the callous, mean, greedy, selfish people that will take advantage of your loss and grief to insult, snub and steal from you and your family. Stay close to those you love and trust, keep each other safe and taken care of. Be watchful of your mother's things, trust me on this one. It seems that in our greatest times of challenge there always seems to be people that make it worse. You will be left shaking your head at the actions and words of others in the days, weeks and months to come. As hard as it can be, maintain your sense of humor, and good sense. Keeping you and your family close in my thoughts.

They are simply devastated and don't know how to control their stress. It was thrown upon them without forewarning( I think).

    Someone help me..?
